1. Usually it takes till the day after we gig it...
2. I bought Phil's Yamaha BEX 4 (which he restrung for me ). We had a nice chat, he made me a fine cup of tea, and the Yam is lovely I'd be pleased to deal with him again and I hope to stay in touch. Thank you Phil, it's found a good home.
3. Speaking of which... I think this is rather badly overpriced, but it does look nice http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1983-USA-made-Peavey-Fury-Blackline-P-style-bass-guitar-/121885189052?hash=item1c60ec63bc:g:3a0AAOSwX~dWs16G I suspect its neck would be too skinny for discreet, even though it's white.
4. I tend to agree, from my limitied knowledge. There's a sort of stripped-back look to them which I like.
5. Too fiddly for my taste. It does remind me of one of waynepunkdude's refins - he did a Rising Sun one which worked well, but that had the advantage of being simple.
6. They've been trying to get rid of that for a couple of years at least...
7. I am still on the One In, Five Out plan... ... and missing my targets
8. Youi don't see many of these this side of the Atlantic. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Peavey-Patriot-Bass-Guitar-1987-USA-super-ferrite-pickup-Rare-/262274184080?hash=item3d10c27390:g:W0MAAOSwL7VWsgNZ
9. It does look interesting. I bet it's hard to play though.
10. SELLER LIKES TO POST IN ALL CAPS which is generally a bad sign IMO. But for what it's worth: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HAYMAN-4040-VINTAGE-BASS-GUITAR-SHERGOLD-BURNS-/111892931763?hash=item1a0d56a4b3:g:fW0AAOSwzhVWr7xO
11.
I've got almost 1000 pictures on mine... Do you have any videos stored on there? A few very large files might account for the lack of space and the fact that deleting the more normal sized images makes little difference.
Nope, no videos. Just JPEGs, almost all of basses. I was wondering if there was a manual switch or similar. IIRC Microsoft Access has a similar thing where you can't free up database space except by using a VB command.
12. I made a crate to ship a bass to Greece once. It cost more, sure. But it would have taken malice to damage the bass.
13.
Not sure about the washers...but I love the beer. Delicious!
If I liked the beer, I'd use the washers more often... Too much sugar in it. (Not that I'm famous, of course.)
14. A P-bass project with a nice colour match and a pretty top. I bought this from eBay a couple of years ago because it looked pretty and I thought I'd have time to do something with it. But I need the space, and I haven't the time. To be filed under Experience, I guess. £50 plus carriage. Pics: http://s1295.photobu...p?sort=3&page=1 What it has: - Partly-shaped but unfinished P-style body with a nicely figured top. It's routed P-style. I don't know what the woods are. - P-type neck marked DR PARTS. The truss rod turns easily. - Tuners, copper-coloured to pick up the colour of the top. - Tort P-type pickguard. This has some scratches, hard to photograph. - Charvel P-type pickup, with the names rather worn. - Gold-coloured bridge, heavy-Fender style. It is not fitted exactly squarely. What it needs: - The body needs finishing. - A new pickguard. The routing for the controls is not covered by the existing PG, so something a little larger will be needed - more like the Hohner-style PG, rather than the existing pointed plate. The pups will have to be mounted to the new PG. - Strings. - Strap pegs. (The holes are drilled already.) - The black tape on the back of the body covered a drill hole, which looks as if it's come through from the front. It looks to be 4mm or so. I've shown this in one of the pics. - Pickguard screws. - Pup screws. - Tuner screws. - Neck plate. - The bridge is a five-screw mounting which is missing the centre screw.
15.
How many photos have you go up there? I thought I had a lot yet my free account is only 1% full... Try refreshing the page or logging out and back in after deleting some to see if that makes a difference.
Thanks for the advice. I've got about 350 pics, apparently. The account is 81% full. Removing a picture makes almost no difference. Logging out and in again has no effect that I can see.
16. Can anyone enighten me about this please? I'm running up against space limitations, but removing pictures seems to make no difference. I'm confused. I'd be grateful for any info. Thanks.
17. The Silos, Susan Across the Ocean. I've liked Walter's stuff for years.
18. Start at the end of each song and learn phrase by phrase back towards the beginning. That way you're always going towards a bit you know, and you don't learn the start really well and the rest not so well.
19. Also, Aria Sinsonido bass. These weigh nothing and sound great, at least to me, and the flare at the end of the neck is much nicer than, say, the Duke, where it is actually possible for your hand to fall off the end of the neck if you are a bit pissed and overenthusiastic
20.
I had two Rail basses - sold them both to BCers, some time ago. Brilliant bit of kit - a real eye opener and how the positon of the pick-up is so important to the tone/sounds you are looking for. Hard ish to find, these days.
I was one of the lucky buyers . Stonking bass.
21.
Their version of Born To Run kicks the living daylights out of Springsteens version!
Yup. And Pleasuredome itself is great, as the OP says.
22. Sniper tool, by the sound of it. Keep an eye open, it may be up again
23. I can't believe this is illegal. I can lend someone my car, FFS...
