it looks nice, especially given the source of the wood Just wondering if the brass electrics plate would do "as is", i.e. without plating? Too much chance of corrosion, perhaps?

If you can find an aluminium-necked Kramer with a humbucker, that might do. Mine sounds almost like a guitar run through an octaver.

I think you're right, the BC basses have a note on the inside of the cover plate. But I do wonder how anyone looking at the advert would be able to tell.
