1. Thursday night went OK. Our usual ocasional gig, not many people but they seemed to enjoy it and we got a few suggestions. I've played worse, and better. The real test will be in a couple of weeks where we are going out as a two-piece (not a three, the better guitar is on holiday) to an unfamiliar audience...
2.
Not me - I've been Peaveyless for some months now. Maybe whoever bought it from me (I forget who that was now)
I had the Fury and the Fury II, if I remember rightly
3. Sale of the neck agreed. I will relist separately.
4. When she's good, she's superb.
5. I was the 4th owner. This is a lovely bass, and I'd still have it if Sean hadn't offered me a trade I couldn't refuse. I can't imagine any buyer regretting owning it.
6.
Sad but true. Peavey make some fantastic basses. But I think the T20s and T40s would be just a bit too heavy for me. Ideally I like sub-9lb basses.
I reckon you could take the hardware and strings off my T-40 and it would still be 9lb... No wonder I don't play the thing. I should flog it.
7. Peavey Foundation. About £150. Storming bass - though you may find it too aggressive with rounds.
8. I love this to bits: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lmQMNEsKdTU
9. Usually it takes till the day after we gig it...
10. I bought Phil's Yamaha BEX 4 (which he restrung for me ). We had a nice chat, he made me a fine cup of tea, and the Yam is lovely I'd be pleased to deal with him again and I hope to stay in touch. Thank you Phil, it's found a good home.
11. Speaking of which... I think this is rather badly overpriced, but it does look nice http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1983-USA-made-Peavey-Fury-Blackline-P-style-bass-guitar-/121885189052?hash=item1c60ec63bc:g:3a0AAOSwX~dWs16G I suspect its neck would be too skinny for discreet, even though it's white.
12. I tend to agree, from my limitied knowledge. There's a sort of stripped-back look to them which I like.
13. Too fiddly for my taste. It does remind me of one of waynepunkdude's refins - he did a Rising Sun one which worked well, but that had the advantage of being simple.
14. They've been trying to get rid of that for a couple of years at least...
15. I am still on the One In, Five Out plan... ... and missing my targets
16. Youi don't see many of these this side of the Atlantic. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Peavey-Patriot-Bass-Guitar-1987-USA-super-ferrite-pickup-Rare-/262274184080?hash=item3d10c27390:g:W0MAAOSwL7VWsgNZ
17. It does look interesting. I bet it's hard to play though.
18. Poole, but my sister is in Bristol and I owe her a visit
19. SELLER LIKES TO POST IN ALL CAPS which is generally a bad sign IMO. But for what it's worth: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HAYMAN-4040-VINTAGE-BASS-GUITAR-SHERGOLD-BURNS-/111892931763?hash=item1a0d56a4b3:g:fW0AAOSwzhVWr7xO
20.
I've got almost 1000 pictures on mine... Do you have any videos stored on there? A few very large files might account for the lack of space and the fact that deleting the more normal sized images makes little difference.
Nope, no videos. Just JPEGs, almost all of basses. I was wondering if there was a manual switch or similar. IIRC Microsoft Access has a similar thing where you can't free up database space except by using a VB command.
21. I made a crate to ship a bass to Greece once. It cost more, sure. But it would have taken malice to damage the bass.
22.
Not sure about the washers...but I love the beer. Delicious!
If I liked the beer, I'd use the washers more often... Too much sugar in it. (Not that I'm famous, of course.)
23. A P-bass project with a nice colour match and a pretty top. I bought this from eBay a couple of years ago because it looked pretty and I thought I'd have time to do something with it. But I need the space, and I haven't the time. To be filed under Experience, I guess. £50 plus carriage. Pics: http://s1295.photobu...p?sort=3&page=1 What it has: - Partly-shaped but unfinished P-style body with a nicely figured top. It's routed P-style. I don't know what the woods are. - P-type neck marked DR PARTS. The truss rod turns easily. - Tuners, copper-coloured to pick up the colour of the top. - Tort P-type pickguard. This has some scratches, hard to photograph. - Charvel P-type pickup, with the names rather worn. - Gold-coloured bridge, heavy-Fender style. It is not fitted exactly squarely. What it needs: - The body needs finishing. - A new pickguard. The routing for the controls is not covered by the existing PG, so something a little larger will be needed - more like the Hohner-style PG, rather than the existing pointed plate. The pups will have to be mounted to the new PG. - Strings. - Strap pegs. (The holes are drilled already.) - The black tape on the back of the body covered a drill hole, which looks as if it's come through from the front. It looks to be 4mm or so. I've shown this in one of the pics. - Pickguard screws. - Pup screws. - Tuner screws. - Neck plate. - The bridge is a five-screw mounting which is missing the centre screw.
24.
How many photos have you go up there? I thought I had a lot yet my free account is only 1% full... Try refreshing the page or logging out and back in after deleting some to see if that makes a difference.
Thanks for the advice. I've got about 350 pics, apparently. The account is 81% full. Removing a picture makes almost no difference. Logging out and in again has no effect that I can see.
