1.
Price reduced to £1500 from £1750
If you alter the thread title, people will know you've reduced the price (Edit the first post and use the Full Editor.)
2. I've just found this and read the whole thread. I'm absolutely gobsmacked. In a good way.
3. Sean and I traded basses. Good comms, nice guy. I'd happily trade with him again (but not for a certain fretless Prosebass
4.
I just found out that The doors didn't use a bassist live either.... all left hand Probably old news but eh
Doug Lubahn played bass on quite a lot of their recordings, I forget which but he's certainly on Strange Days. IIRC they asked him to join, but he didn't think they were a band with a future.
5. If I had any money... free bump for a nice guy.
6. Also there is a no-name knockoff which looks almost exactly like an unbadged Cirrus out there... there have been a couple on eBay over the last year or so.
7. I nearly bid on that. Rebuild thread please
8. Nice. Thanks for posting, that's an interesting read. I liked the mindreader joke
9. Thursday: First half, OK. Second half, not so good. Overall, could have been worse. (My singing was terrible, but I knew that before I started... and now they do, as well )
10.
Rocking the Steve Earle vibe there Dad - nowt wrong with that, or indeed being a sturdier, hirsute gentlemen : we are an under appreciated group.
True that.
11.
Does Stevie Wonder......."What does Robert Plant??"
Who knows... though I've heard that Brian May.
12. I have far too many. I can't justify it. They take up too much space and I will lose money on almost all of them. Foolishness. Edit: Peak was 58, about the time of the original post. There were also some projects, about three. Plus two uprights, an Ashbory, two cellos, two violins, a viola, an acoustic guitar, a trombone, an electric guitar, a banjo (on loan to an ex-guitarist), and access to a piano and a flute. Some of these have gone by now. And the answer is No, I can't play any of them well.
13. I don't know about 8-strings, but Thomann were selling Dean Rhapsody 12-string basses earlier this year.
14. Somebody buying a cheap weekend listing when their camera's not charged?
15. Aria Sinsonido... 3.125 kg in its bag.
16.
Lovely, right up as far as the nut Sorry, I'm allergic to pointy headstocks but apart from that it's a gorgeous looker. That quilt is lovely.
This...
17.
At £14 a set you can't go wrong - I like them so much that if you buy a set and you're not happy with them, I'll buy them off you...
... and if he doesn't, I probably will
18. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dlk0-HQh2j4 Richard and Linda Thompson, on top of their game. Live, as well.
19. That's got to be a bargain. But I already have more basses than cash; so, GLWTS
