1. Joni Mitchell - Hejira. New buy. Not sure about it.
2.
Warwick do have a case specially for their Star Bass Semi-Acoustic. I have one. It's not particularly small or light, but it offers excellent protection.
Thank you; I will look again.
3.
Ah, sorry, they've always looked deeper than that in pictures.
They are tricky little devils
4. There are definitely some overpriced ones out there at the moment.
5. "There are no flaws on the body whatsoever..." Not so sure about that, TBH
6. I guess the Burns is the same as in Ormston-Burns, but beyond that... pretty radical shape for 1959 I think! Might be too early for a truss rod? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/burns-weill-bass-guitar-/262135542040?hash=item3d087ef118:g:E2AAAOSwhcJWQNjq
7.
You could visit a shop that stocks Casady bass and try your bass in the case.
I'll be trying that. Thanks There's probably somewhere in Bristol or Southampton.
8.
For that bass aren't you going to need a full size acoustic bass guitar case, rather than the semi-acoustic styles that have been suggested? http://www.amazon.co...r/dp/B005F40M1I
I don't think so. The body is less than 6cm deep (front to back), so the 16- or 18cm acoustic cases look to me as if the bass will not be properly supported. I may yet have to go that route and build a (removable) false bottom in an acoustic case, but that's a lot of work for a case which is going to take up more space than I can spare.
9. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hohner-The-Jack-Headless-Bass-Guitar-with-Hiscox-Liteflite-Case-/111819359753?hash=item1a08f40609:g:f2EAAOSw5VFWP38o With a hard case. Bromsgrove. £250 start bid.
10. Aria Sinsonido. Weighs maybe 4.5lb, 34" scale, "piezo" pup only. About £400 new, IIRC. http://www.playawayg....php?itemID=609 Get well soon Edit: Completely by chance, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ARIA-SINSINIDO-4-STRING-BASS-GUITAR-/301793642835?hash=item46444d8953:g:iE8AAOSw~bFWPz87 No relation to me, treat with usual eBay caution. £225.
11. I seem to remember a fretless bitsa with a Hohner neck in the same colour scheme... am I detecting a theme here? (That neck is on my bitsa fretless P.)
12. Possibly. I like the idea, just not sure if I'd be able to afford it.
13. Not looking good. Stagg don't do anything for a semi-acoustic. AFAICT Warwick ditto. Hagstrom and Guild are short scale. It's not easy to get any dimensions for a non-generic case - not surprising, but not helpful.
14. Thanks folks; now I have some leads to follow up.
15.
What bass is it? Fender do one that fits the Coronado and starcaster.
Yamaha BEX 4 - this one http://basschat.co.uk/topic/265853-yamaha-bex-4-fretless-now-sold/page__p__2834886__hl__bex%204__fromsearch__1#entry2834886. They don't make them any more.
16. No idea if they are still for sale. http://www.preloved.co.uk/adverts/show/114038290?utm_source=preloved&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=AdAlert http://www.preloved.co.uk/adverts/show/114067813?utm_source=preloved&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=AdAlert
17.
I can't help thinking that it could do with some green fur somewhere !
This Bridge mutes ?!
18. Very nice colour If I was playing fives, I'd be thinking hard about it... but no, so just a free bump.
19.
Heat a scalpel over a flame then gently ease it down the "slits" for the nut this will melt the glue and the nut will pull out I would advise covering up the fretboard if you have not done this before
Will this work for that sort of glue? The OP could always try it out on some scrap wood first - he knows what the glue is, so it should be easy to glue some bits together to experiment on.
20. That's glorious! I'm never going to be in a hair metal band, but it would almost be worth joining one just to gig this...
21. At least it's not bassalt... What's the body made of? Luthite, I guess.
