I'd stay with Yamaha, at least to start with.

How does it play with a bow?

A bit of paint and Ash might like one of these

It's a valiant effort regardless of how it actually turns out. Kudos to you, sir.

Hi! Always good to see new people.
-
I have similar things which seem to be associated with statins - though I've always had them occasionally, so it's not just that. Never while I'm playing, fortunately.

I'm 62 now, started in my late 40s. Still terriblke, but less terrible than I used to be.

Thanks folks. Sounds as if I should change the strings, see if that helps.
-
I have a fretless with a dead spot - which, annoyingly, is the D at 7th "fret" on the G string.
Is there a way to sort this out?
I don't really understand why it's happening, either. Can anyone enlighten me?
Thanks

You seem to have two of these threads...
Good luck with one of them!

Does the fourth knob do anything now? Or is it a DFA control, maybe?

I bought a P-bass loom from Tom. Quick and uncomplicated transaction, all went well. I'd be pleased to deal with him again. Thanks Tom

Tom has another feedback thread here... must be in the running for most feedback ever!

Ahh. That hadn't occurred to me - which is embarrassing, as I have a Krappy Guitars two-string built especially for the Morphine wannabe. Good call

In Australia, so of academic interest only to most of us.
But this is new to me, I've not run across them before. It also seems to take the prize for World's Thinnest Neck At The Nut - 36mm?!
It's quite pretty, if you like that sort of thing. (Which I do.)

Mmm. "May not ship to the UK"... they say that like it's a bad thing.
I would actually like to know more about this, but mostly because I want to understand how anyone arrives at the point where this seems like a good idea. Are they a balalaika player, did they just have a bit of wood of mostly the right shape... what?
-
I could definitely see that being prettier than the original.
Would you have to move the bridge?

One thing though, that neck must be secure!
... if he hasn't removed too much wood, that is...

I've just bought a bass from David. This is the fourth time we've dealt with each other, which should tell its own story. An easy transaction; he was patient, thoughtful and courteous. I'd have no difficulty in dealing with him again.
Thanks David, much appreciated.

Retrovibe are offering a near-copy.
And they will do five-strings to order.
And it weighs a little over 9lb. Which I suppose might put the purists off
Unfortunately for me, it's sunburst only.

Epiphone Thunderbird neck pocket size
in Bass Guitars
Posted · Edited by alyctes
Hi. I'm considering a neck swap on a Tbird. Does anyone know what the neck pocket size is, please? (No, I haven't got the Tbird yet
)
Thanks!
