1.
The white/tort/RW Super P plays and sounds as good as it looks. David's off on tour soon so i wonder if the sales related. Fantastic opportunity to grab a quality bit of kit.
Do you know where he's playing?
2.
Deps are always paid. Regardless of your desire or otherwise to be a permanent member of this band, if you allow this precedent then you will be seen as an easy touch and will be asked to play a lot more freebies, perhaps to the point of not being paid where previously you would have been. I wouldn't touch it with a 10-foot bass playing pole. Whatever that is.
About 110" scale, I reckon. Now I have GAS And, what he said: Do it now and you're stuck with it.
3.
They represent great value and with £50 be daft not to.
Indeed.
4. Welcome A colleague tells me that instruments are hard to get/expensive in Brazil (his wife is Brazilian). Would it be cost-effective (and legal!) to buy something here, take it home and sell it?
5. Can't afford one myself, but that doesn't mean you lovely people can't http://www.retrovibe.co.uk/ (Disclaimer: I am not now, nor have I ever been, etc.etc.)
6.
There is a UK company that sell the same thing, Rothko and Frost http://www.rothkoand...-dot-inlay-rod/ I have used these and also Lumnlay and can't tell the difference. If you want genuine Luminlay, don't worry about ordering, they are spot on.
R+F seems to have moved the page; this seems to be the new page: http://www.rothkoandfrost.com/glow-in-the-dark-luminescent-inlay-dots-pack-of-12/
7. I have no idea about these, myself, but this may be interesting to someone. It comes with a hard case. Poor pictures may keep the price low? http://www.ebay.co.u...=item2a573915d0
8.
only £10 shipping though - surely actual shipping costs would be more?!
This is a problem if the seller refuses to cover the extra cost, which would presumably be a big no-no for eBay.
9. Where have all the flowers gone?
10. I wonder what went wrong with our love I wonder why she ran away And I wonder where she will stay.
11. Reduced to £75 posted. I nabbed this off eBay because I was curious about the controls and fancied a project, but I haven't got time to do anything with it and I need the space. Maverick was a UK-based company, now folded. This is a four-string, metallic black with matching headstock; TRC and a couple of screws missing. The trussrod turns smoothly. It needs rewiring; when I first had it the pups worked but one of the tone controls did nothing. I took the electrics cover plate off and looked at the roller pot assembly; they are mounted on a frame which can be removed - it looks to me as if they are normal pots mounted sideways. Now it makes almost no noise, so I suspect I've stretched a wire somewhere. The back of the neck has a deep scratch running to the scarf joint. I am pretty sure it is a scratch, not a crack. I've tried to photograph it. The neck has its share of minor dents. The bass has dents and scars; it ought to be refinished, probably. Pics here: http://s1295.photobu...html?sort=3&o=0
12. Interesting Paint-wise, I'm not all that keen on white, generally, but I love the white and pale grey that Yamaha do on the RBX4A2. That should work really well on the faceted body, IMO.
13. Useful, thanks for posting
14. It's an Ibanez SRX of some sort. Bound body, four knobs in a row. (I have an SRX430, out on loan to a friend.) Which specific model, I don't know; I'd guess you can't tell without looking at it up close.
15. Looks good so far. I love the neck dots Also, please tell more about your Vox Standard fretless. I've been wondering about doing something similar for a bit.
16.
Anything left?
Unlikely, given it's nearly two years later.
17.
wonder if you could do some kind of T40 market place where the price varies according to the weight....
Inversely
18.
Very true - but I sooo badly want a Riverhead Unicorn to go alongside my Hohner B2A & Cort P/J. No way on earth to justify four... ....is there? J.
I forgot the Hondo Alien... so yes
19.
Obviously make sure that your new neck has the same number of frets as the current one. Seems obvious, but easily overlooked.
This!
20. I may also decide to sell my T-40... I don't get on with the neck, and replacing it would be barbarous
21. Bach cello pieces. Try Suite no.3 in Cmaj. I guess there is a chance of offending purists.
22.
Very tempted - these don't come up very often. But I can't exactly justify owning three 80s headlesses... Jon.
They don't take up much space... (Hohner B2A, Westone Rail, Kramer The Duke here.)
23. Looks nice, doesn't it? I have the impression black ones are relatively rare. Sadly, the £125 shipping cost is not my perfect number...
