1.
I guess it is a bit 'bling' but I like it.
Looks like nice work to me. I think you've every right to be pleased. I'd be bl**dy ecstatic if something I'd done came out that well
  2. I know the name and that's all. I'll explore - thanks to the OP
  3.
Shall I take it to the bridge ?
The bridge! Where is it?!
  4.
I have an Italia Rimini - it has a modern yet 60s sound and styling. I don't play electric bass musch thes days, but when I do, that's the one I pick up, Here: http://www.jhs.co.uk/italia.html scroll down tot he bottom of the page.
What's the neck like on these? I had a Mondial which I'd have kept if the neck had been slimmer.
  5.
Something semi-acoustic. Possibly fretless. (I'd love philw's defretted BEX 4 but I really cannot find the cash...)
Currently GASsing for money. If you have any, let me know
  6. I think I might just put it in a skip. Seems a shame, but I can't believe it's overpriced and I haven't got the space.
  7. Will you still love me tomorrow?
  8.
Make that three - unless one of you owns the one I used to have.
Indeed. Thanks for the info - I've not picked either one up for quite a while.
  9. I assumed it would be 42mm nut, given the single P pup of the "classic" Blazer.
  10. Indeed. I have a Duke and an Alien, and both have aluminium necks. (Which I suppose proves only that one Alien has an aluminium neck... - if I find time I'll dig it out and see if the neck is marked in some way, it's possible that the Alien neck has been replaced with a Duke neck )
  11. Quite pretty, though it's a bit elaborate for my taste. Also, I am a bit suspicious of that lower horn. I reckon that might be uncomfortable to play sitting.
  12.
I've always been put off by the tales of chunky necks
Me too. Also, I will never buy any item with "SWEEET! LOOOOOOK!" in its title.
  13.
That's fine. Nobody is saying he's a rogue. He may be misguided or mistaken. Or he may know something we don't.
I just meant he ought to be easy to get hold of if you wanted to ask.
  14.
Could be, but I don't think it's an Aria, despite the "ghost" logo - or if it is, it's a bitsa of some sort. J.
Seller is a member here

    Amazon

Not used them, but I have used Status Hotwires bought direct and that worked well.
  16. Wouldn't it be nice / To get on with me neighbours?
  17. I have a set of Bartolini pickups (P/J) for sale. They were removed from a Satellite P-copy with a seized trussrod. Good condition. The P pup is labelled 8S (scratched into the base, 8S-S and 8S-N on the two parts). The J is scratched 9J-L1 in the same way. Pics here: http://s1295.photobu...&postlogin=true Pickups working fine; two screws missing, no boxes. £75 posted in the UK, firm. Edited for labelling. Edited for pics.

  20. Clean. And not fake.
  21.
Best thing is to break the line down to one section/bar/riff/part-riff at a time. Even if it's just a couple of beats/half a bar at a time, get that bit right, then move onto the next bit, etc.
I agree, but don't move on to the next bit. Move on to the previous bit. That is, learn it from the end; start with the last section. That way, you are always going onward to a bit that you already know. So you avoid the trap of being able to play the first bit really well (because you play it all the time) but stalling on the second.
  22.
Amazingly erm... something.
There's never a "Like" button when you want one...
  23. Welcome aboard! Lots to see
