1. Gareth sold me some strings and I've nothing but good things to say. I'd be happy to deal with him again. Thanks
2. Always interested in cluttering up my life with instruments I can't play Just to clarify: The bass I've played most is a no-name J copy I got for £80. It's still the one I pick up when I want to work something out.
3.
How many Harpists are there out there? They probably think you DBers have it easy with a nice transportable instrument...
Yup. My mum plays harp, and my dad played double bass. At least you can lay a DB down on its side...
4. Hmm. Not far from me, tempted to go have a look. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Westone-bass-guitar-/271946843274?hash=item3f514b848a
5. I had [s]five[/s] [s]three[/s] [s]two[/s] a new and unopened set of D'Addario EXL180 nickel roundwounds for sale (0.35 0.55 0.75 0.95) - now gone. (Technically I still have another set which I am keeping until I get round to trying them out... they may come up for sale if I don't get on with them, but they'd be used.) I'll take pics if you like, but they are new unused strings, so there's not much to say. £12.50 per set, posted[s]; postage reduced if several sets are bought[/s].
6.
... Oh, good for soundchecks though - you can walk right to the back of the venue and hear the mix which does help a fair bit.
This.
7. Something semi-acoustic. Possibly fretless. (I'd love philw's defretted BEX 4 but I really cannot find the cash...)
8. Pretty. At least three too many strings for me, and way out of my price range. Good luck with your sale!
9. Time to write it off and send it back, IMO. Good luck!
10. Nice to see a good-looking Fender for a change .
11.
I've always wanted to go here: https://www.thedeep.co.uk Returning to the topic, I've seen those Westfield Warwick copies on eBay quite a bit, but don't remember seeing an in-depth review. On the other hand, it's possible to buy Rockbasses for not much more money.
Weird... half your post is invisible. At least to me, I can't see anything after the link. (Also, http://www.national-aquarium.co.uk/ - well worth a visit if you're in the area.)
12. That's what's known in the trade as a "radiation hazard"... I'm not sure it's legal to ship internationally
13. I'm up for "Rants and Libellous Statements"
14.
The importers are in Poole: http://www.intermusi...roducts/guitars
Worth knowing. Thanks.
15. Please tell me you put those strings on for the silks
16. Personally I'd be nervous with the palm-size one. Those things don't take prisoners and I'd want both hands on it.
17.
Warmoth do a 24 fret option for their 38mm jazz necks, or are you after something more cheap and cheerful?
Thanks Cheap and cheerful would be preferable though.
18. Where on the south coast? Brighton is a long way from Plymouth
19.
That's really kind of you. I'm very lucky to be in a band fronted by a really great songwriter and with a bunch of talented, sensitive and almost entirely ego-free musicians (all of whom are young enough to be my kids :-).
I didn't say I wasn't jealous
