1. Also on Gumtree, I see
2. Still got heaps, but reducing ever so gently
3. Bangers, one way or the other
4. If you put the revised price in the title or at the top of your first post you're more likely to get takers. Fewer people will scroll down to the end (Edit the first post, then click the Use Full Editor button to get at the title.)
5.
Those of you who own one of these nice looking J&D's are the necks similar dimensions to a Fender Jazz?? Wish I could try one of these out..... They look seriously good value
Nut is 38mm on my bitsa. Apart from that, can't tell you - never played a Fender.
6. I have no idea if this is legit or if it's a reasonable price. It's way outside my budget (currently less than zero). It is fairly close to me. http://www.gumtree.c...nal-/1128852056
7.
Yep, ... but that is why you never let a gtr player pick a band
Or finger one. Ermm...
8.
Never would have thought of Magazine as a prog band (not sure I do now!), what makes you think of them as prog? I've seen early Simple Minds included in prog rock conversations but never Magazine. Edited to say, I've just revisited The Light Pours Out Of Me and I'm shifting my stance!
I'd go with early Simple Minds, and some Magazine. And Japan.
9.
I always remember a review of the album at the time in the NME (I think) it went thus: Tales From Topographic Oceans - Yes No. Still makes me laugh.
I think that was Charles Shaar Murray?
10. Very pretty. If it was fretless...
11. Looks like solid wood to me. Possibly between the ears of the seller?
12. Apologies for the resurrection
13. Pretty sure that one's up on eBay as well. Not sure about the price, given the state of the electrics.
14. Relicing. Seems like cheating to me. Pointy 80s-metal headstocks. Yamaha RBX200F is as far as I can go down that route, and I wouldn't have bought that if it had frets. Acoustics. I can't play them, the body's too thick. Anything with a skull painted on it; anything pretending to be a weapon.
15. Funky Scratchplate and the Middle Lane Hoggers
16.
I've played one of these, briefly. Well made, played well, sounded good to me, mint. I was put off by the fact that the seller had advertised it as something else and wanted £300 for it, and that I couldn't find any details whatever on them when I searched online. I still think it was overpriced, but I would happily have paid £200 for it if I'd trusted the seller. This one has more scars, but if I was new to fives it should be a decent starter (assuming it's the same as the one I tried).
This might be the one I played... http://www.gumtree.com/p/guitar-instrument/enigma-5-string-bass-guitar/1119433834
17. Not self-taught. But I'm so bad a student, I've forgotten it all. Apart from how to tune it.
18. Sweet Thanks for posting!
19.
No-one mentioned any Van Der Graff Generator yet? Pawn Hearts then
Panamonte did, and so did I
20. I have a sneaking liking for the blue board.
21.
... I've seen him playing Modulus, Ken Lawrence and I think a Fender (red MIJ) - maybe an Elrick too, but that original bass is something special.
Also seen him on TV with a Zon of some sort.
