I'm learning Python and SQL, in an effort to make myself more marketable, ho ho. This comment [url="http://basschat.co.uk/topic/227421-thomann-selling-harley-benton-basses-as-decoration-only/page__view__findpost__p__2851898"]http://basschat.co.u...ost__p__2851898[/url] made me wonder if it would be worthwhile setting up an online searchable database for people who want to know things like the neck pocket dimensions of Hohner B Bass B basses, nut widths, truss rod adjuster sizes, that sort of thing. Would anyone apart from me find this useful?

I have accumulated several cheap basses (under £100) which need new necks - typically because of stuck trussrods. None are of significant sentimental value. Some are still playable but obviously can't be adjusted. Given that new necks are expensive, what advice would people give? Thanks in advance

Possibly a bit ambitious?

I can't sing at all any more. I've sung harmony for as long as I can remember - I find it difficult to sing a melody. I've never been able to sing and play together though. Recently my bandmates have pushed me to sing lead on a couple of songs (knowing they'd have to do without the bass), because I have the best voice of the three of us. Net result, I can't sing either.

Indeed. I have a Duke and an Alien, and both have aluminium necks. (Which I suppose proves only that [u]one[/u] Alien has an aluminium neck... - if I find time I'll dig it out and see if the neck is marked in some way, it's possible that the Alien neck has been replaced with a Duke neck )

Quite pretty, though it's a bit elaborate for my taste. Also, I am a bit suspicious of that lower horn. I reckon that might be uncomfortable to play sitting.
