Shredding is not my thing, so pardon my ignorance, but how are you actually playing? A swift look at That Wikipedia suggests lots of hammer-ons and pull-offs? I do that, though probably not as much as I should - my fingers aren't really strong enough for pull-offs unless I'm going to an open string.

I think it would have to be Pawn Hearts. I love Fragile, but it's not really an album. Godbluff is a contender, but it hasn't got quite the same ambition, somehow.

Wax it Rosewood or ebony fingerboard, black headstock (or something to match the body, but that's likely to be difficult). I agree with SubsonicSimpleton on the hardware - don't bother with any relicing. Black chrome might work, or copper?
