1.
Pure beeswax is the best thing I've tried. You can hold it in your hand for a while and it goes soft enough to mould, but then it sets nice and hard and sticks well. And you can just polish out the smears.
That's an excellent idea. Thanks
 2. Another Vox Standard. The one I've got has been partially stripped, weighs a ton and has a treetrunk for a neck, but I love it dearly and will never part with it. But I'd like one to put a J-width fretless neck on. Also, I keep seeing a pale blue/maple Ibanez GSR250 on eBay. Pretty
Just thought I'd bung this up, best thing I've seen on this years Glastonbury coverage so far (and not just because of the super-cute break dancing kid)
That was cool
 4.
I often say to the kids "We are family" ( when I say kids I don't mean NKOTB)
I've heard your sisters are doing it for themselves.
 5.
43 mm Will.
Thanks Will. Sorry, but I'd never play it GLWTS!
 6. That's a blast from the past! And an old favourite. I liked the b-side of the single as well, but I have no idea what it was called.
 7. Interesting. Not keen on the Angel scratchplate (except for the Emperor, which reminds me of something somehow). The Super P looks nice
 8.
Most bands that I've seen that change instruments do it due to alternative tunings.
Done this once or twice; one in EADG, one in DGCF, because I needed the open low D.
 9. I bought some strings from Calum. A clean easy quick transaction, just as it should be. He actually sent them before I'd paid him... ! I'd be happy to deal with him again.
 10. I do like this. It looks like a Fleabass, but nicer. Might be coming past Leeds early next month. :ponders:
 11.
Beady Belle - Self Fulfilling. Nice groove type thing. Can't post a Youtube link - no idea why. Used to work fine.
I think there's been some sort of update to the site software, because I haven't been able to see many links posted for several months. It seems to be the ones in tags. My browser doesn't show them at all, so I get "I've been listening to this:" and nothing else Firefox 38.0.5 on WinXP SP3, with Adblock Plus and Flashblock.
 12. I like the Snark tuners. Easy to read, good display.
 13.
By a very long way - this.........
I'd forgotten that ever existed.
 14. Nut's too wide for me. Kodiakblair's probably got one already
 15. Would changing only one pot be a way of getting an ear for the difference? (Disclaimer: this may be an electrically stupid idea
 16. Agree on slides. Make sure it's properly intonated and in tune; it makes much more of a difference on a fretless. Don't think of it as another bass guitar; it's an instrument in its own right.
