1.
I'm going to re-string this bass any string suggestions to get the best out of it.
Black nylon flats
2. Thinking it might be an Aria IGB (or copy of), something like this: http://www.ebay.co.u...=item1e9c4b8820
3. This, on the other hand, could be a good deal for the right buyer: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3-4-LA-Bass-Guitar-by-Gear4music-Black-B-STOCK-RRP-84-99-/271808139141?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item3f49070f85
4.
Same with bass tabs I find
Yes. Even if the notes are right, the positions often aren't.
5. At least one of the full-size ones has a neck with frets which need filing. It might be tricky, because of the binding; I'm wondering about using a matchstick to put epoxy on instead.
6. I bought a pBone recently http://basschat.co.uk/topic/234162-well-thas-an-interesting-horn/. I'm rubbish on it, but I'm better than I was
7. Is this the set-neck model?
8.
Pleased to see this thread, as I bought BCer Steve's 5-string in December. Can't play it at all, I find the different intervals very hard (tuning gDGBD). Hmm... I may yet tune it aEADG - if I can get strings to do it, I think that might break the standard ones.
I need to retrieve it from my guitarist's music-shed first...
9. Nice Does anyone know the width at the nut?
10. Love the colour
11. Okay, what are the various parts from? The body might be a reshaped Yamaha, but the sculpting looks wrong.
12. I don't know what worn Badass V bridges go for? (The saddles are worn, according to the eBay listing, which I should have posted last night. Oops.)
13. That is tempting. It's up on eBay as well, BTW. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GB-Rumour-Goodfellow-style-custom-5-string-bass-project-with-Badass-V-bridge/361249245496?hash=item541c220938
14. Not really my thing (I'm not very metal at all, and I don't like the colour), but the headstock is elegant and the whole thing looks well done.
15. Lovely. Understated, but really classy. And, as usual, way out of my reach and competence. Bah, humbug
16. General election?
17.
It's a very complicated area! I hope I didn't come across as a know-it-all Not my intention at all
Absolutely not
18.
I've not read the link Dad posted but I suspect it's bang on the money. Anyway, this bit of what you said caught my attention: Copyright is automatic. As soon as you create something original (photograph, painting, song) you own the copyright to it. I believe the tricky part comes with trying to prove that you own that copyright if contested. Back to the topic though, I'd have thought that yes, the BBC would indeed need to seek permission before using someone's original work. I'd look into it if I were him as there may be some compensation due perhaps? Worth reading up on at least just in case!
Okay, thank you. I stand corrected.
19.
Might be more complex than that, otherwise YouTube would own the rights to most of the music in the world.
That's why I said "original thing", by which I meant stuff posted without prior copyright. Edit: Having read (some of) the link provided by Dad3353 (thanks ), it's obvious I was wrong in detail and more or less correct in fact. They can distribute anything of yours you put there as they please, but they are not liable for it.
20. I'm pretty sure that if you post some original thing on YouTube, YouTube owns the rights to it.
21. Hobby player. Standard: awful.
