1. I was looking at cellos and found this strange ad. I don't get it. Can some kind soul enlighten me? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/offer-invited-/161421427366?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Sting_Instruments&hash=item25957782a6 Ta!
2.
The width is 63mm so standard fit and the depth is 20mm
Thanks mate. Wondering if it would suit a nice fretless maple J neck... heresy, for sure, and I'd have to break it to move it on, but even so... Would it look horrible? I can't see what it would look like.
3. I bought his fretless maple J neck. All went well and he was punctilious about its (minor) issues. I'd trade with him again, no problem. Thanks
4. Sorry to see this posted. How wide is the neck pocket, please? I'm well aware that Peavey necks are thin, and not often seen on their own.
5.
... As well as standing in the back garden in the rain and snow.
The only bit I actually miss is sitting on the doorstep late at night, getting the eye from the squad cars
6. Suzi Quatro! 48 Crash, in particular.
7. I expect he's right http://www.gumtree.com/p/for-sale/custom-designed-gower-bass-guitar/1081019975
8. Good luck. I quit Christmas '96. The smoking ban in pubs made me think I might be able to play live. (I was wrong, but that's lack of talent )
9. Interesting post, thank you I'd like to see more of a reuse culture here.
10. Okay, since nobody got the last one, I'm going to jump the queue and do this one: Blind Mr. Jones Totally Nude Ruby Dear (Nothing But) Flowers The Democratic Circus The Facts of Life Mommy Daddy You and I Big Daddy Cool Water
11. If I didn't have too many basses already I'd have had Paul_S's Aria three weeks ago... Nab it as soon as you can get to it.
12. No. Nor do I believe anyone else is. It's how you're brought up, and how you make your choices.
13. I've learned a lot here, but damn me, has it cost me in GAS...
14. Tempting... I like pink basses, and J-type necks.
15. Yamaha fretlesses (RBX200F and up) are good basic instruments IME, well made and sound decent, and you can generally find them in decent nick for well under £200. Fretless BB-series (BB300, 400, 414) are better, and not much more expensive. The Harley Benton I had (modern-style, P-J) was excellent for the money (under £120 new) but needed a lower nut.
16. I think you can get painted blockers (made of hard foam and thin ply, I think) for the F-holes? Might help with the feedback.
17. 'My Family And Other Animals', Gerald Durrell. Not a comedy, but fun to read and funny as well. Second vote for Mr Pratchett's 'Small Gods'. Stella Gibbons, 'Cold Comfort Farm' - a classic, in its class-riddled way. Damon Runyon makes me smile. Also, see if you can find a Best Of Beachcomber. I think I'm showing my age here - most of these are pre-1940... (okay, that does mean I'd be showing someone else's age )
18. If it was fretless, and I had some money, and space in the rack... GLWTS
19. I'm pretty sure Playaway Guitars used to sell these. No idea if they're any good, but I'm considering finding out
20. I would like to move the land far under. Does anyone know a course I could take?
21.
so in a toss up between this and a MIM fender, hmmmmm....!
Fenders are easy to get. The Letts is unique. Just saying
