Mmmm. Tempting, not least because I have a fretless one. I'll have a think.

I was all ready to post a silly comment when I saw the cricket-ball control knobs and fell in love.
They seem to make googly eyes at you. Spoooky.

I couldn't justify anything over £800. I suppose for an upright I might go to £1000, but I'd probably have to replace my car as well then...

Funny how the market waxes and wanes - these come along so rarely and a couple of years ago this would have gone on the first day! Bump for a 'USA quality bass for less than a Squier'
Well, four years ago I'd probably have bought it... Nowadays I'm trying to reduce my bass complement. Without success, I might add...

I'd have it, but I have too many basses already. Have a bump instead!

I can vouch for the quality of the cup of tea

Yet another example of someone who has the skills to make a nicely crafted instrument with some pleasing little touches but has absolutely no eye for design when it comes to the lines of the body.
So many will put together hand made basses look like melted hot water bottles.
Well, they are in a long tradition...

Probably a 'get 'em hooked' listing to wait for the real pix.
Thinking about it, ebay ought to have a two-tier pricing system.
They could call the cheaper ones their "free range".

That's a poultry excuse, frankly.

Indeed. I do wonder how fast the bridge will wear though.

It would help to know where you are...

I bought strings from Martyn. All went well and I am happy. I'd be happy to deal with him again (this is my second transaction). Thanks!

Brian sold me a coat and some shirts. All went well and I am a happy bunny. I'd be delighted to trade with him again. Many thanks - Mike

I don't know, it could be worse...
... he might have finished it.

Song's no more than OK, but the fretless is worth a listen.

Tempted. Let me have a think and a check on something.

Dean Martin, 'Sway'. We're going to pick it up again and I've forgotten how it goes.

If I ran eBay I'd make the first picture of any listing uneditable, so you couldn't delete it

Me too. Used to lean it backwards against the wall; one night it fell forward, shed it's fingerboard, cracked its bass bar and loss lots of the little patches old basses acquire inside. £1500 repair bill and that was 20 years ago.
Probably less of an issue with a small laminate bass. But why risk it.
Exactly It's certainly what I'd do with a cello, which is a smaller instrument altogether.
