1. Peavey Foundations, one fretted one fretless. Recently bought from BCist vmaxblues, thanks mate
2. is it factory fretless, or a defret? thanks
3. This seems to me to be a bitsa, Yamaha neck and DeArmond body. OTOH, it may be my ignorance is showing. Either way, I'd like to know http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bass-Guitar-Yamaha-Black/171424305821?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20140122125356%26meid%3Dbb174d6337714f9c9d1df76255bdc5b6%26pid%3D100005%26prg%3D20140122125356%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D111440082584&rt=nc
4.
Hey ,hey jazz bass on steroids, those super ferrites are good. Truss rod nut is brass and the rod is steel. A small dab of light oil, then a little lighter fluid to run the oil down the thread.,apply every 2 hours about 3 or 4 times-leave overnight ,try in the morning. Should free off, although it could take a few days, usually not,run the nut up the rod a few mm,s so there is a small cavity and put a small drop of the light oil in and let it seep down the thread and adjust away. If they are resisting after a few days-heat up a 5/16 socket and put it on the nut and wait a few minutes for the heat to go into the nut and try it. Remember to use very small amounts of penetrant as it will seep into the wood of the neck. If in doubt get a good guitar tech.
Thanks - something to try, at any rate.
5. http://cgi.ebay.co.u...E:B:WNA:GB:1653 I am going to South Wales on Monday and could detour to Swindon; I am tempted to put a £50 punt on it - just for research purposes, you understand A vaguely Peavey-ish body style, but the pointy headstock puts me off somewhat. So does the prospect of driving in Swindon... Death By Roundabout, IIUC.
6. Yes, the Millennium is ex-demo. I also am stuffed to the gills with Peaveys but still quite fancy a Zodiac. If I had a silly amount of money, I'd have a sillier amount of basses
7. Foundations are the mutt's How did you free up the trussrod nut, if I may ask?
8. Keep an eye on the Peavey eBay account. I got an American-made Millennium from them for £220...
9. My Vox Standard doesn't have the bridge you describe, nor has it had a bridge cover (it's been partly stripped of paint, so it would be easy to see). I haven't found any pics of a Standard on line with a cover, though I think I remember seeing one on eBay a while ago, which I think was added by the owner. With a bit of luck Bassassin will be along in a while to share his astounding amount of knowledge
10. I've owned two, both bought second-hand. One I sold on as a project; it wasn't great but it worked. The other has a second P pup added and I think is a keeper. For what they cost they are good, and a little time on tidying them and maybe upgrading the pup seems to produce quite a lot of bang for your buck. The P-P has Wilkinson pups, and they sound fine to me.
11. Oooh. If I didn't have one already... Also, where are you based? Good luck with your sale!
12. This is one of the new BC basses, not one of the old SGC Nanyo ones. If it was an MIJ SGC Nanyo that would be a fairly good price. For this one, it's probably about right, from what I hear - they seem to be decent at their price point, but no more than that. The moderns are Fender-style, J-ish or P-ish; the old SGCs are "modern"-style with a skinny headstock, like this one: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/199589-bass-collection-sgc-nanyo-japan-4-string-sold/.
13. Kenny bought my B-10. No issues and I'd be happy to deal with him again. Thanks
14.
I think I'm gonna! Been looking at the Harley Benton one. At 107 quid I can hardly say no can I?
If you do, you may have to change the nut. I had an HB fretless, and the nut was for a fretted bass and way too high. Probably a cost-cutting thing... 107 you say?
15. Is the BB404 the same as a four-string BBN5? That surely looks like a BBN4.
16.
Just wanted to give you guys a heads up not to deal with this idiot his ebay ID is acol23345 to cut a long story short I bought a bass from him paid for it then the next day he sent me a message saying the bass was damaged so I ask what the damage was and for some pictures of the damage he then said I could not have any as he has sold the bass to some one else as spares hmmm lies me think anyway ebay are watching him and they will be getting my money back so avoid this knob like the plague all
Thanks Paul, appreciated.
17. That ought to be turned into a hard case
18. Not heard of these. Looks nice
19. Lou bought my Hohner The Jack. No problems, and no hesitation in dealing with him again. Cheers! (Kudos also to ParcelForce 48, who delivered in 29 hours...)
