1.
I think I'm gonna! Been looking at the Harley Benton one. At 107 quid I can hardly say no can I?
If you do, you may have to change the nut. I had an HB fretless, and the nut was for a fretted bass and way too high. Probably a cost-cutting thing... 107 you say?
2. Is the BB404 the same as a four-string BBN5? That surely looks like a BBN4.
3.
Just wanted to give you guys a heads up not to deal with this idiot his ebay ID is acol23345 to cut a long story short I bought a bass from him paid for it then the next day he sent me a message saying the bass was damaged so I ask what the damage was and for some pictures of the damage he then said I could not have any as he has sold the bass to some one else as spares hmmm lies me think anyway ebay are watching him and they will be getting my money back so avoid this knob like the plague all
Thanks Paul, appreciated.
4. I reckon it would go plunk
5. That ought to be turned into a hard case
6. The info link in your first post is broken
7. Pretty wood
8. Not heard of these. Looks nice
9. Lou bought my Hohner The Jack. No problems, and no hesitation in dealing with him again. Cheers! (Kudos also to ParcelForce 48, who delivered in 29 hours...)
10. plenty of love for the Peavey, it's just that the budget already went, on Peaveys...
11.
<snip>... my car is a running gag to my friends and colleages ... can't understand why I won't buy a new car. As far as I'm concerned, it works, it does what I want it to do and I'm just not interested in driving around in a shiny new w*nker's car...
This
12. Pretty
13. That blue Vulture is gorgeous
14. I've never ever seen a bass with all the saddles lined up like that.
15. Well worth £37 for the neck, if it's decent.
16.
Glad you still have it. I had some fun with them - was going to keep one but decided to let go and one day make a "Tribute" but in 34" scale. One day! As you know, the tonal differences, as you slide along, are quite interesting and varied. Cheers.
It definitely says things about bass tones and how to get them.
17.
There ya go, Devon and Dorset, great minds think alike :-)
18. I might go for this, if I could stand the headstock... Aria Pro II 2 ii (apparently, I don't know Arias). P-P-J pup config, which I'm definitely interested by. http://www.ebay.co.u...=item3a94d2a616
19. I've got one which I had from FlatEric (thanks mate ). I don't play it much, but I'll never sell it. What a great design, and what a great sound. Also if you run the pup back to the bridge, either rail is perfectly balanced as a carry handle
20.
Speaking of thin-on-the-ground Fenders... anyone ever seen a 1980s Performer bass? I love the body shape, not sure about the headstock.
There was one on eBay maybe a year back. IIRC starting bid was £600. Or maybe £900. I did think it was the best-looking Fender bass I'd seen, but I'm not a Fenderhead..
21. They do look great, these... good luck with your sale
22. If I didn't have one already ... (actually mine's a C4, IIRC)
23. I've the five-string version. It's a nice bass, plays well, sounds good.
24. There will be lots of people by very soon to explain all the bonuses of playing fingerstyle Personally I don't see what you've got to lose. It won't stop you playing with a pick.
