1. Stu and I traded basses, his SRX430 for my Mondial Classic. Good comms, promptly sent, well packed, and all as described. I'd happily deal with him again. Thanks Stu
2. Some interest, but nothing yet agreed.
3.
This this this this this. Best thing I ever learned as a musician.
I think I'm probably quoting you... so thank you
4. I bought a stand from Nige and have nothing but good things to say. No hesitation in dealing with him again. Thanks
5. Welcome aboard Interesting username...
6.
Get some sleep, wake up with new zeal and carry on.
Now here I have to agree. Dream-time is important.
7. Flatwounds?
8. I do like the Axstar
9. The look is clever, the way it ties the body shape to the fan-frets and pup angle. But I don't like it; too angular and leaning too much on the visual. Looking good (whatever that means) is far too often a cover for poor function.
10. I don't like it, it's too loud. If it was shell pink, I'd like it
11. Learn backwards. Learn the last part of a piece first; then the bit before it; and so on. That way you're always going from hard stuff to easy, and you don't fall into the trap of never getting to the end.
12.
Gerrout of 'ere..! Hop it..!
Please stop, I canberra it...
13. I like these
14. Definitely, the Fender-made strings are both unpleasantly sticky and break if you look cross-eyed at them. The Pahoehoes are much better, and I have a set of Aquila Thunderguts - which apparently are better still - waiting to go on.
15. Yes. If you think it's hilarious, you've never heard one. Think of it as a double bass in a violin-size package. It is not a bass guitar, just as a bass guitar is not a double bass.
16.
Apropos of nothing (much), I have a very nice VMJ which might shortly become surplus to requirements. J.
If it's the one I remember, it's very nice:)
17.
There was one in stock in a magazine that I had my sights on, but I didn't pull the trigger. They're a barrel of laughs, though; the problem is getting shot of it; the folks recoil from buying 'em.
Just as well you had some foresight. Some people would just have bought it automatically.
18. Not only wouldn't I buy it, I'd be very reluctant to deal with anyone who owned it.
19. I bought a hard case from Andy. Very quick, all as advertised, a good deal. Thanks!
20. Pics will improve your chance of a sale If you have trouble posting them here, put them on Photobucket (or similar) and link to this thread.
21.
The pink one is mine..I listed it up and it never sold.....!!!! Ah ah - and manager to find the link with the pics: http://basschat.co.u..._1#entry2175408
I was trying to be all virtuous and not spend money on stuff. Mistake... If you ever change your mind, ping me please
22. I don't know anything about the J+D basses but the Ibanez GSRM-20 is nice (available from Thomann, last time I checked). But do change the strings, the factory ones with mine were rubbish...
23. Try learning from the end. Learn the last bit first. Then learn the bit before it, and play through the end part you already know. Repeat, adding earlier bits. So, let's say your song has five parts, ABCDE. Learn E first. Then learn D, and whenever you play D, play E after it, so you're playing DE. Then learn C, and play CDE. And so on. That way you don't get caught knowing the first bit but never getting to the second bit, and your confidence ought to improve as you go through a song. Try it
24. Ohh, now I get it. Maybe he thinks it's one of these? http://www.long-mcqu...estige_Bass.htm Edit: Or maybe he's going to pretend it is. If you buy believing it's a 5000, you've done yourself out of a lot of money.
25.
I wondered that, but that would be pretty silly-cheap for an SR500, unless it's completely trashed. He's relisted it again, at the same price, on a 30-day listing. I'm voting "delusional". Jon.
Oh dear. I concur.
