1. Damn, that's a weird beast Makes a lot of sense to me; double neck, not much heavier than a full-body bass with a headstock.
2. :runs away from GAS attack: good luck with your sale!
3. The headstock is slightly Ibanez-ish? The diagonal P-pup is unusual IMO.
4. Didn't see it, but there's a G+L which fits that description.
5. The Sound's first album, Jeopardy - 1980?
6. IMO Vox Standards are fine basses. Heavy, and thick in the neck, but they play well and sound good - much better than their expensive Vox Custom cousins, at least to my ear. If I didn't have one already, I'd buy this one. OTOH, this is in better nick than mine (pup excepted)...
7. Aria Sinsonido 690 fretless. Not even slightly conventional-looking, but it weighs nothing and sounds very DB-ish. About £370, IIRC.
8. UPS/Interparcel have been good when I've used them. Same with DPD, but their system seems not to care what size the parcel is - several times I've had emails saying "You must be in to sign for this", I've not been there, and they just stuffed t through the letterbox (mostly these have been CDs). MyHermes have been poor at best. Their local depot is not open the hours their website claims it is, for a start.
9. :ponders the building of crossbows...: Would work best with double-ball strings
10.
I'm fairly sure that the company that builds these has nothing to do with the company which built the much loved SB range during the 80s/90s..
I'm sure this is true. I think the modern stuff is probably decent for its price point, but it's suffering because it gets compared to the old SGC Nanyo basses, which are way above their price point and always were. Just my opinion, of course.
11. Something slow and piano-ish on Radio 3. I like Late Junction; sometimes they play stuff which blows my socks off, and sometimes they play the most self-indulgent arty-farty crap imaginable, but it's always interesting.
12. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-ASGARD-SQUIRES-BLOCKBUSTER-BASS-MK-I-British-Built-Guitar-ZZ-R26-/181391580990?ssPageName=ADME:B:WNA:GB:3160 Might have a punt... but be quick
13. Better than New Year's. Not very good, but there you go. I'm out of this band at the end of the month, probably.
14. Okay, this is definitely a long shot, since it's eBay and all (and nowt to do with me... but - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Shergold-Modulator-Bass-Guitar-Hard-Case-VGC/360921297231?_trksid=p2045573.c100034.m2102&_trkparms=aid%3D555012%26algo%3DPW.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D22047%26meid%3D6602638111132144360%26pid%3D100034%26prg%3D9537%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D4%26sd%3D271417112502

16. Seriously? http://www.gumtree.com/p/for-sale/counterparts-by-rush-on-vinyl/1059581797 Wow.
17. I like the ProBass basses.
18. Not honestly sure if this is twin-humbucker, but who cares... http://basschat.co.uk/topic/229735-back-on-sale-peavey-foundation-bass-made-in-the-usa-white-with-rosewood-fretboard/page__pid__2435189#entry2435189
