1. Ibanez GSRM-20. From Thomann, about £170. 28.6" scale, fits a guitar bag. Change the strings, the factory ones are not very good. I've got one, I like it a lot. http://www.thomann.d...9b625145ac9a81d Edit: Madshadows beat me to it, and cheaper too
2. I'm guessing that if discreet doesn't like jazz necks the SRs would be way too skinny?
3. hi folks Up for sale is my Adam Black B-10 four-string acoustic/electric bass, bought from BCer 2wheeler a couple of years ago and for sale because I'm not using it. Original sale thread here: http://basschat.co.u...12#entry1772512 Photos by me are here: http://s1295.photobu...0?sort=3&page=1 It has one dink on the front, visible in one of the pics, and two very minor scuffs which I've tried to picture (one in the same pic as the dink, one in the pic of the bridge). Comes with original soft case and 2wheeler's nice green strings , plus a new (opened but unused) set of Elites Unplugged 40-100 phosphor bronze acoustic strings. £125 plus shipping - I have a sturdy box and can reinforce it. Might trade; I do like Peaveys , or will trade for a busking amp, e.g. QR10PA or Roland Bass Cube Rx (4 x2.5), possibly with cash your way depending on what it is.
4. I'm a bit confused about the price? Is it £199 or £245? Ta!
5.
That bridge cover doesn't belong on the bass; as the seller says "The only non-standard part that I have added is a black J-Bass cover over the bridge and its pickup"
I should have actually read the listing, obviously...
6.
Looks nice, I'd be surprised if it sold for that much in an auction listing. Not that it isn't worth the money but these later (86ish) standard Roadstars never seem to sell for much. There was a red version of this bass that was on basschat for months maybe a couple of years ago now. http://basschat.co.u..._1#entry1941256
And that's the reason I haven't asked more qs about this one...
7. I don't like it, but I prefer the sound of most basses to their looks.
8. This looks nice to my ignorant eye... YMMV. If it was close to me I'd definitely be interested. Is the bridge cover rare? I haven't seen one before. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ibanez-RB690-Roadstar-II-Bass-Guitar-MIJ-1986-and-Digitech-BP50-Effects-Pedal-/141260253702?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item20e3c46a06
9.
Mike bought my Peavey Fury in an outstandingly smooth and easy transaction. This is the second Peavey Fury he has bought from me - I am tempted to buy another one just so I can deal with him again... Thanks Mike, enjoy that neck!!
Thanks Paul... The neck is quite lovely . The pup is fab also. With any luck Paul has now killed my Peavey GAS. Yeah, right
10. I've just had a(nother) Peavey Fury from Paul. Good guy, good packaging (and just as well too...!), good comms, very quick; a nice clean transaction and no hesitation in dealing with him again - though with any luck my Peavey GAS is now at an end. Thanks Paul
11. Ashborys are lovely. Good luck with your sale
12. Just as well I'm not local... GLWTS
13.
Nooooooooooo! This doesn't do my GAS any good at all! *groan*
Indeed... and it doesn't do much for my prospects of shifting the excessive number of basses I own either...
14.
Because John Hall has time, money, expensive lawyers, and a seemingly litigious nature. Basschat has none of the tools required to fight that. I can't believe we're discussing this *again*. Personally I think asking basschat and the mods/admins to run the risk of legal action by Rickenbacker just so a few people can buy and sell some basses is extremely rude. Are any of the people who want to overturn the ban willing to stump up all legal fees and take responsibility for defending the site, or do you just expect the mods to do it for you?
This.
15. I bought Al's Tanglewood Curbow. All went well, I am happy, and I'd trade with him again without hesitation. Thanks Al
16. I love Foundations And at that price, you can't go wrong.
17. If I played a wind instrument, trombone would be it... you can slide a trombone
18. "Nut width: 70 mm"...!
19. It's just as well I don't like the colour... Also, in my experience BIA is a reliable and decent seller. Deal with confidence
20. T-shirt. On the back
21. I bought Stuart's pair of Peavey Foundations, and I've nothing but good things to say - nicely-kept basses, well packed, good communications, and sent as fast as possible. Thanks Stuart!
22. You used to have two, and I didn't know that either. Works fine
23. I've a Peavey Cirrus BXP, 35". I couldn't tell and assumed it was 34" till I actually measured it
