1.
That bridge cover doesn't belong on the bass; as the seller says "The only non-standard part that I have added is a black J-Bass cover over the bridge and its pickup"
I should have actually read the listing, obviously...
2.
Looks nice, I'd be surprised if it sold for that much in an auction listing. Not that it isn't worth the money but these later (86ish) standard Roadstars never seem to sell for much. There was a red version of this bass that was on basschat for months maybe a couple of years ago now. http://basschat.co.u..._1#entry1941256
And that's the reason I haven't asked more qs about this one...
3. I don't like it, but I prefer the sound of most basses to their looks.
4. This looks nice to my ignorant eye... YMMV. If it was close to me I'd definitely be interested. Is the bridge cover rare? I haven't seen one before. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ibanez-RB690-Roadstar-II-Bass-Guitar-MIJ-1986-and-Digitech-BP50-Effects-Pedal-/141260253702?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item20e3c46a06
5.
Mike bought my Peavey Fury in an outstandingly smooth and easy transaction. This is the second Peavey Fury he has bought from me - I am tempted to buy another one just so I can deal with him again... Thanks Mike, enjoy that neck!!
Thanks Paul... The neck is quite lovely . The pup is fab also. With any luck Paul has now killed my Peavey GAS. Yeah, right
6. I've just had a(nother) Peavey Fury from Paul. Good guy, good packaging (and just as well too...!), good comms, very quick; a nice clean transaction and no hesitation in dealing with him again - though with any luck my Peavey GAS is now at an end. Thanks Paul
7. Ashborys are lovely. Good luck with your sale
8. Just as well I'm not local... GLWTS
9.
Nooooooooooo! This doesn't do my GAS any good at all! *groan*
Indeed... and it doesn't do much for my prospects of shifting the excessive number of basses I own either...
10.
Because John Hall has time, money, expensive lawyers, and a seemingly litigious nature. Basschat has none of the tools required to fight that. I can't believe we're discussing this *again*. Personally I think asking basschat and the mods/admins to run the risk of legal action by Rickenbacker just so a few people can buy and sell some basses is extremely rude. Are any of the people who want to overturn the ban willing to stump up all legal fees and take responsibility for defending the site, or do you just expect the mods to do it for you?
This.
11. I bought Al's Tanglewood Curbow. All went well, I am happy, and I'd trade with him again without hesitation. Thanks Al
12. I love Foundations And at that price, you can't go wrong.
13. If I played a wind instrument, trombone would be it... you can slide a trombone
14. "Nut width: 70 mm"...!
15. It's just as well I don't like the colour... Also, in my experience BIA is a reliable and decent seller. Deal with confidence
16. T-shirt. On the back
17. I bought Stuart's pair of Peavey Foundations, and I've nothing but good things to say - nicely-kept basses, well packed, good communications, and sent as fast as possible. Thanks Stuart!
18. You used to have two, and I didn't know that either. Works fine
19. I've a Peavey Cirrus BXP, 35". I couldn't tell and assumed it was 34" till I actually measured it
20. I've a Satellite P-style which I bought from BCist Shaggy. I don't know how much work he did to it in terms of playability, but it's a fine instrument.
21. I've no doubt that you're right. Instruments are not high on the hierarchy of needs
22. I never liked that song. But that's just awful. So, Hell it is then
23.
The seller is just spinning a yarn to pull the wool over our eyes. I cottoned on straight away, so I'll knot be bidding. He should be strung up.
And, that's the end of this thread... A completely needle-ss intervention, eye think.
24. It's a way to avoid actually buckling down and learning stuff...
