1. Thanks for the input, gents. I'm pondering; it goes against the grain to part out a working bass in decent order, mass-produced or not.
2.
Is it good for Metal?
I suppose it might be easily lead. At that price, it's a steel.
3. Pleased to see this thread, as I bought BCer Steve's 5-string in December. Can't play it at all, I find the different intervals very hard (tuning gDGBD). Hmm... I may yet tune it aEADG - if I can get strings to do it, I think that might break the standard ones.
4.
Trousers don't matter when your junk is on your forehead LOLLLL Ok another warning for me.
Depends how he wears his trousers But generally, yes. Good for you, and I appreciate the hard work and attention that mods and staff put in to keeping BC a nice place to be.
5.
Whats the weight like?
Digital scale says 4.3kg, which is 9.5lb in old money.
6.
PLEASE, just go and see another GP, take a tent and pitch it in their office and refuse to leave! Fight for YOUR quality of life. You are 32 and ready to accept disability??? Seriously, if this is getting worse as you say, how long are you going to leave it? Until you can't drive a car? Until to cant write? Until you can't wipe your own.... Well you get the picture. If you can afford to pay as a private patient, or have private health insurance through work etc, go and see an osteopath or a chiropractor, as has been mentioned, if you have pins and needles in both hands, this could be linked to an out of place vertabrae around you shoulders/lower neck and could be very treatable with some visits and exercises. If you are unable to go private, insist that your GP makes you an appointment, you might have to wait a few weeks but at least you will get in. The squeaky wheel get the grease matey, don't give up!
This! You need to know what the problem actually is. Then you can decide to get it sorted, or not.
7. I'm selling my Squier Vintage Modified Fretless Jazz with Badass II. Lined fretless, four-string, passive, tobacco-ish sunburst. The bridge has been replaced with a Badass Bass II. So far as I can see it's pretty much spotless; there is a scratch on the electrics plate by the jack socket, but I think that's it. Someone has had rounds on it, so there is a little marking on the fingerboard, but nothing serious. At the moment it's wearing Status Hotwire steel flats. It comes in a tweed hard case which I believe is original to it. Bought from BCer hathernman for a project which I'm not in any more. There is an issue: The electrics are not quiet on all settings. I believe this must be a pup earthing issue, because it is silent on some settings, but I've neither the time nor the talent to fix it. £175 plus shipping, firm (I think it's easily worth £200 fixed, given the Badass, and I reckon £25 to fix it professionally). Pics here: http://s1295.photobu...0VMJ%20fretless (Trades considered, but I've got too many basses already... Bank transfer preferred but PayPal is OK so long as the buyer covers the fees.)
8. Sell stuff I don't use. Practice more. Play more. Pay more attention to amps and strings. Learn to solder. Join a folk band. Learn to play the banjo I bought
9.
Interesting, thanks Steve. You've put a lot of effort into this, it's appreciated.
+1
10. Awful. Place was empty and got emptier. We were sh*t. I was particularly sh*t. I'm considering firing the singer, even though I can't...
11. Bought a banjo from Steve. All went well. He organised a special courier arrangement which worked very well, at least for me - nice to meet your folks mate I'd be happy to deal with him again.
12. I bought instrument leads from Paul. All good, and I'd be happy to deal with him again.
13. Too many strings for me, otherwise I'd be interested...
14.
God help us. Mr Twit is the de facto Basschat cultural attache to Japan!
Is that bad?

16. Rehearse without mikes... Make the singer compete for volume. Edit: I learned this from a guitarist. Credit where credit is due
17. Depends if I can overcome my embarrassment at my rotten playing and worse memory. But, tentatively, yes.
