  1. I had a bitsa which looked an awful lot like that. Paid £80 for it. Surprisingly aggressive-sounding pickup.
  2. Ibanez Mikro for me. Compact, well made, plays well. Fits in a guitar gigbag. Excellent backup bass when she outgrows it.
  3. Damaged, I suspect. Probably plays nicely enough.
  4. I have a Grind four-string. It's the fretted four I like most, I think.
  5. About this: Many "stick" EUBs come with side-frames of one sort or another, intended to space the instrument off the player's body. It ought to be possible to make a plug-in side-frame which hooked into the player's belt?
  6. I explained to one of them once that they weren't trails, that was the exhaust of the Foo Fighter shadowing the airliner. He went quite quiet and didn't say much about it. I don't know why, he wouldn't tell me.
  7. That's called "geology", IMO. (You don't believe Iceland is real, do you? At least we can see the moon!)
  8. I did try it. At the time I couldn't get my head round it, partly because I couldn't get it to sound good on either bass.
  9. Thanks. That was pretty much what we wound up doing: make sure the DGCF songs were in a single block. Singer would blether about a song briefly, that would be long enough.
  10. I've tried similar things with a four-string. How do you organise your setlist? Are you retuning between songs? I wound up taking two basses to gigs (EADG and DGCF).
  11. Gareth is one of the good guys. Thanks
  12. Hi. Has it got side dots, and are they in sensible places (i.e. where the frets would be)?
  13. It's a gas gas gas...  I could easily spend half my monthly income here.  Every week.

It can be a dangerous place, spending wise!

  14. I'm a much better driver than I would have been without my succession of old slow cars.
  15. Tempting... I don't like bursts, but the scratchplate covers most of it. Question really is whether I can live up to that logo
  16. I think it probably was. I hated it, but I'd sold it.
  17. The buyer converted it to headless. To be fair, I did know that he wanted it for a project.
  18. I had a Yamaha BBN5. Cheap as chips. played nicely, could have done with a pup upgrade but was quite adequate. I regret selling that, especially given what happened to it.
