I like some jazz, but not all that much. I've listened to a fair bit and still do, partly because I know I don't understand it. I was considerably put off, a few years ago, when I read a comment by Dave Brubeck saying that gigs could be spoiled by people in the audience [i]listening in the wrong way[/i].

It's also possible that the string retainer has had its corners filed off. They are a menace to anyone near your left shoulder.

I don't like it, but that's not the point. The point is, you do like it. Go for it, and I hope it's everything you want.

Hmm. I like the Peavey neck on its old body... so, perhaps I should be working out a way to remove 0.5mm from each side of its heel. Obviously it needs to be reasonably symmetrical. I can't afford proper luthiery. So, I'd be grateful for suggestions

Milestone III neck is about a millimetre too wide. Bah, humbug.

Peavey Milestone III might also fit. That's a little more like it. I'll try the Peavey neck on the Hohner tomorrow, if I find time.

Hmm. So far, it looks as if a Peavey T-40 neck might fit... but that's out of my price range.

hi I have a Hohner bass in need of a new neck (broken trussrod). It's bolt-on, four-string. Heel measurement is 61 mm. I like skinny necks, so I'm not overly concerned with an "authentic" rebuild - I want something which will play. Can anyone suggest other designs which have/had necks of this size? Thanks
