1. Are the neck-through and Fender-style basses active?
2. I don't know the EDB600 but I have got a (luthite) EDC715 (five-string), which is not heavy IMO, and very comfortable because of the body shape. I have no scales so can't measure with any accuracy, but it's maybe a little heavier than my Yamaha BBN5 (five-string) and definitely lighter than my Vox Standard (four-string). Hope this helps.
3. I bought some Ashbory strings from Ieuan. Good comms, prompt delivery, sensible packaging. No problems whatever, and I'd be happy to deal with him again. Cheers!
4. Okay, how heavy is this beast, please? I hear they are a bit on the beefy side
5. Bought a headphone amp from Ade. No problems or issues, good packing, prompt delivery. I'd happily deal with Ade again. Thanks
6.
Yes it was
Okay, let me rephrase that - you guys were excellent Venue was Blandford Corn Exchange, summer of 1980 or '81? The frontman had yellow hair (not blond), really tight-curled. Very, very exotic-looking, in that place and time - at least to me, I was young and innocent. I vaguely remember wondering at the time why the bass player sounded so English, or maybe so not-South-African.
7.
Welcome mate. I am in Dorset so not so far from you. I played with some guys from SA way back in the 80s. They'd basically escaped the regime and were political exiles. The BBC did a documentary on them, a programme called "Open Space". Anyway i got really excited and when the BBC turned up they didn't want to feature me as i was English Anyway, enjoy the site its informative, funny and annoying all at the same time.
Was that band called Day One? I saw them in Blandford, they were excellent.
8. Welcome I'm (also) in Dorset.

Hi...

Welcome Might be worth pointing out, you will get a lot of people asking "where are you?" in your For Sale threads, so you might want to put a location in your profile. Good luck!
10. Welcome Are the Pelham Blue EB-0s easy to find? I've never tried (been put off by the comments about mudbuckers) but I have the impression they're not common.

Hello

Welcome
12. I'm not well up on Sandbergs, but this looks interesting: http://www.gumtree.com/p/for-sale/rare-collectors-sandberg-5-string-bass-guitar-serial-no003/92494429 (Disclaimer: nothing to do with me guv.)
13. It's not that I don't want it, it's that I prefer being able to pay the mortgage...
14.
It looks like it has a tight radius on the fingerboard which is carried over to those lovely chunky pickups, so I wonder whether is has some kind of eub capability - or is maybe designed to be bowable.
That might also explain the rather odd position of the jack socket.
15. I like "There is no fretweak"
16. The Only Ones, "The Big Sleep".
17. And to my great surprise, fernandobicho is also selling one here: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/160896-kramer-the-duke-80s-vintage-aluminiun-neck-bass/ Anyone inspired by his thread could do worse than to have a look at a cheaper alternative
18. Being sold by someone calling himself ninebobnote, no less. Nothing to be wary of there
19.
Can you lot get some avatar pics up, please? It's like all these posts are from somebody with a disturbing identity disorder.
What do you mean, "like"?
20. My thought was that 2x18 didn't want to mess about with couriers for a bass this cheap. I could be wrong
21. Problem is, I'm still four hours away... Poole, in Dorset.
