1. I like this. The headstock shape is exactly like the Yamaha fretless I bought off Setekh a couple of months back. And it's the same colour. And stuff. Sorry, got a bit distracted there So, yeah, someone needs to buy this quick before I do... I haven't got space or need for any more basses. Unless you fancy a trade + cash for an aluminium cricket bat? Kramer The Duke, available here: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=153692 Not very jazzy at all, I know. Bump anyhow
2. Back up for sale or trade. Kramer The Duke This is a four-string passive headless cricket-bat, black, aluminium neck with wood inserts, made around 1984 IIRC and with some scars to prove it. Bought from dangerboy in January 2011; original sale thread here: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...7&hl=kramer Solid and compact; it feels very robust indeed. Scale is 32". It takes single-ball strings, unlike some headless designs. Single pickup, nice tone; very punchy, with a lot of zing and a lot of sustain. Frets have some wear but there's plenty left. I upgraded the bridge (to a black Gotoh 201). For sale because I'm not playing it; that band split up, and while it's great to travel with, I also have an Ashbory. With the Gotoh, £225 plus carriage.
3. Previous buyer has had to withdraw. Bump!
4. Where are you based?
5. The new strings do make a difference. Short answer to TheGreek, I am a player of bass, rather than a bass guitarist; there is a difference. Do PM me if you wish to discuss further.
6. I did email him, but it's not the same somehow...
7. Arrived safely. Nice packing. All as advertised, and it's been a pleasure. The only weird bit is, I can't post feedback Thank you Bo, and thank you Clarky
8. Bought, and awaiting delivery
9. I bought this from ficelles in May; sale thread here: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...amp;hl=ficelles It was originally for two keyboards, with a removable padded partition between (lost before I bought it). Otherwise in good nick, as in the original thread. It's had a carry handle added on the top so that one person can move it. Photos if needed. I've been keeping two cricket-bat basses in it, but it's wasted on them, and I need the space. Price, £25. Pick up only, unless someone fancies paying the carriage on it. Alternatively, I might drive it for petrol money, say 50 miles. I'm in Poole, Dorset. PM is the best way to get my attention - I forget to check the thread :|
10. For sale, Boss BR-8 digital studio. Bought from jacethebass in June and hasn't even come out of the box (apart from one rapid check to confirm it was all there). Original thread here: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=142094 Asking what I paid for it: £80 plus postage. Pics if you insist, but it's entirely unchanged from the previous thread
11. Does it actually work as it is? Not sure, from the OP. Thanks
12. Traded for John's EHX MicroSynth. Scrupulously honest and a nice guy. Pedal came well packaged, as fast as could be expected, and working well. He also gave me a couple of hints which have been very helpful. A good experience and I would have no qualms in dealing with John again. Thanks
13. I have a battered but functional Vox Standard which I like a lot. I saw a Standard in good nick go on Gumtree recently (February) for £150, I think.
14. Wow. A good move to update the pictures, I think Good luck with your sale!
15. Welcome aboard! My mam is from Llandovery - living in England now, but I still get up there every couple of years.

17. I'm nowhere near Derby, so I can't do it. But if you post an ad in the Other Music-related section... who knows?
18. I bought some DR Black Beauties from Dan. Good comms, all as advertised (plus a bonus nicked string to see if I could do anything with it), prompt delivery. I'd happily deal with him again. Thanks Dan
19. Welcome aboard

hi

Hi folks My name's Mike; I live in Dorset. I'm middle-aged. I've owned a bass guitar for about four years; I'm still rubbish at playing them, but I'm a lot better than I was. Not gigging at the moment (but looking to, assuming the band holds together that long). Musically I'll try anything except metal and late-70s soul (and Simply Red, who I cannot abide). I'd like to do more folkish stuff. I'm impressed by this forum, and by how well-mannered it is. I hope to be here for a long time.
24. Bought a Korg pedal tuner from Pete. All as advertised, in good nick, prompt delivery, well packaged and good comms. Nice one. Thanks Pete Mike
25. what a stonking list! Please let us know when you gig
