  1. I bought a fretless from Chris. Nice guy, good deal, happy me. I'd be pleased to trade with him again.
  2. I think we can safely assume the neck is bolt-on.
  3. There's a reason they are rare 😠
  4. I've been wondering about putting strings on a rake for a while...
  5. Here, "unknown" means "sidled away before the blame could be allocated".
  6. It's the price that gets me. A mutilated bass with pretty much everything anyone might consider to be "original" removed, and they want five grand for it?!
  7. IIRC it's not possible to edit the original price setting - a software issue.
  8. I have a defretted one. My favourite 4-string. (Well, reboarded actually. By someone in Brighton, when philw owned it.)
  9. I guess a clip-on tuner on the headstock would have some effect. Might depend on exactly where it was clipped on, as well.
  10. I'm going to try holding the tip of the headstock against the drummer.
  11. My experience was that getting the fretless let me (made me!) become better with fretless. I don't think it would have happened otherwise.
  12. All the Foundations I've seen have two soapbars rather than p/j, aren't neck-through, and have less expensively-carved headstock.
  13. Mm. That hadn't occurred to me. I'd have to get it removed.
  14. Damn. That's really tempting. And I haven't played a fretted bass for literally months, not even to practice.
  15. I had a bitsa which looked an awful lot like that. Paid £80 for it. Surprisingly aggressive-sounding pickup.
  16. That counts as chambered, I reckon...
  17. Ibanez Mikro for me. Compact, well made, plays well. Fits in a guitar gigbag. Excellent backup bass when she outgrows it.
  18. Damaged, I suspect. Probably plays nicely enough.
  19. I have a Grind four-string. It's the fretted four I like most, I think.
