  1. What's red and invisible?
  2. I'd much rather spend it on the art than the guitar, even if I didn't like the art. At the end of the day, the artist is working by hand, but Fender are applying a factory finish. So if I had to choose...
  3. Ugly to the point that it can only be some sort of "design statement". It would need a serious, serious advantage to offset that "statement" before I'd even consider it.
  4. Nicely flared at the end of the neck. That's well thought-out.
  5. I bought Lawrie's Harley Benton fretless fiver (plus case, rather unexpectedly). Nice guy and very welcoming, all exactly as expected. Thanks Lawrie!
  6. Dolphinesque, IMO. If that's a word
  7. Nice colour!
  8. I look forward to the pictures - though sadly it's only for perving over Good luck with your sale!
  9. Surely the original calculation should take account of the changes in interest rates over the time since it was bought? (I know, I'm not entertaining. Story of my life.)
  10. Thanks. It sounds as if it might be similar to the Ibanez BBG5 neck. I find that comfortable enough.
  11. Happy to see you're on the mend. (Damn that's pretty...)
  12. How long is the neck, nut to heel, please?
  13. The neck I have is not a Hohner. It's fairly close, headstock shape-wise, and could probably be reshaped into a good likeness, but authentic it ain't.
  14. Wow. Makes me wish I could get on with acoustic basses.
  15. Well well. I have a neck which would fit this, I think. Given the shape, I'm pretty sure it's a Hohner, but the branding has been removed. Truss rod was good last time I checked. Edit: On closer exam, I'm pretty sure it is not a Hohner. The shape is close but not exact; it could probably be reshaped to be a good match.
  16. I have one. It's not for sale. I play it upright, with the headstock beside my left ear. I've also seen pics of them fixed to mike stands, like a mini EUB.
  17. I've been meaning to ask, what's the neck profile? (I still want it, and I still can't afford it...)
  18. Sylvan Esso. I like them.
  19. Interesting., from my entirely ignorant perspective . Clever trigger mechanism. The strum/sample trigger feels like the trickiest bit from the user POV, because you will tend to get a single combination of sounds. Making it programmable is possible, I guess, but that sounds like a can of worms to use live. For studio stuff it seems fine though? . Could you put a guitar-chord sample on it? I don't see a reason to restrict yourself to drums
  20. Nice colour! Lucky for me, I am not looking for fretted fives... GLWYS!
  21. You're not wrong There is a big difference between learning your own part and playing with the whole band.
  22. This.
  23. Allegedly the traditional tuning was "to the studio piano" - presumably because that was hardest/slowest to tune.
  24. Could you put a string guide over that headstock crack?
