    It might be interesting to mix cobalt flatwound E string with steel flats for other strings. That would brighten the E only, and you'd still have the same tactile experience.

    Well, I was about to nab one for my SRF705 , but I'm sorry to say it wouldn't fit - the tuner arrangement is different. Shame, it's a clever idea.
