    I suppose the other obvious one is Lemmy, who was a guitarist before joining Hawkwind. Seems to have liked the change I don't know Dinosaur Junior's stuff, sorry to say. Is this how Barlow plays in the studio? I'm wondering if it's a way to fill the sound out with only one guitarist.

    I've been using 6mm black tape on the upper edge of my TRB5 fretless (for some reason Yamaha side-dotted it as though it was fretted...), but it never occurred to me to cover the whole board. Kudos!

    Nope. You just face them downwards and sit on top, then play bass through them. Steering can be tricky, mind.

    It might be interesting to mix cobalt flatwound E string with steel flats for other strings. That would brighten the E only, and you'd still have the same tactile experience.

    I suppose it's possible that a few of them were decent, and that those are the ones which tend not to become bonfire fuel. £300 is still a lot though.
