Couldn't honestly blame him if he did, really
I haven't enough knowledge of electronics to guess what the fault actually is, unless it's decayed winding insulation in the pot of the offending pickup.
£200 seems pricey, but they are nice. I'll be watching with interest (not going to buy, already got one and I don't really do white basses for some reason).
There once was a chap who played cello
He said that it made him feel mellow
Then he borrowed a bass
And got quite a long face
And now he's an unhappy fellow.
No, I don't know what it means either.
I've no personal experience with this, but it does occur to me that changing string types (rounds to flats to tapes, or whatever) would change the feel of the strings so it might compensate a bit. Obviously it might not work well for your public playing.
Nice, though I have my doubts about the look of the headstock - I think it's the central dark wood, makes it look a bit like the Kramer split aluminium ones.
Where are you based?
It's a bit on the black side for me, but that's just me being traditional (I like wood ). I should think it's really, really nice to play. Not in my reach, I fear.
These are lovely. I've got an orange one and a fretless (reboarded) in blue; my favourite basses. Nylon-wound strings go well on them
Why Yamaha stopped building them I've no idea.
