1. Nice, though I have my doubts about the look of the headstock - I think it's the central dark wood, makes it look a bit like the Kramer split aluminium ones. Where are you based?
2. It's a bit on the black side for me, but that's just me being traditional (I like wood ). I should think it's really, really nice to play. Not in my reach, I fear.
3. I've had a think, and all I can really do is give your thread a free bump. Good luck with your sale!
4. I was, but that's quite a long time ago, and I found one. Someone else, I guess.
5. That shouldn't be around long. Sorry to hear of the surprise. GLWTS!
6. These are lovely. I've got an orange one and a fretless (reboarded) in blue; my favourite basses. Nylon-wound strings go well on them Why Yamaha stopped building them I've no idea.
7. One picture, for $4500 BIN... people are weird.
8.
Long time no bump............
That must mean there's some sort of problem...
9.
I think you are supposed to rest the section with the controls on your leg classical guitar style.
Ah, OK. I can sort of see how that might work. Thanks.
10. I dislike Flying Vs quite a lot. Oddly, that doesn't seem quite as objectionable, somehow. I have no idea why. It does look a lot like a pair of tongs; I'm sure some people would like to see it put in a fire
11. That bridge design... I begin to see why a lot of people don't like Rics much.
12. hi Marc - hoping all's well with you. Can you bow it, or is the bridge flat?
13. Only one pic, for a bass priced north of 3 grand? Seems odd.
14. Blimey. I'm not sure whether that's silly, awful or the best thing since sliced hard-boiled egg. It looks properly uncomfortable to play sitting down though.
15.
I thought he meant blues!
Whoops... sorry about that
16. I bought strings from Cameron. All very quick and simple, and I'd be pleased to trade again. Thanks
17. Thank you for your replies.
18.
Used to work with Mary Christmas... it was her married name so she only had herself to blame!
And her husband!
19. Two of my relatives are trying to sell harps (separately); both instruments are professional-quality. Neither has been able to find anywhere sensible to do so. Any ideas, please? Thanks
20. Interesting - I've ambitions to do the same, when I've got the time (hee hee), so I'm pleased to see this thread.
21. There were quite a lot of Italian violin/viola basses made in the 60s (Eko, IIRC, and others), and I think some Bulgarian-made ones. Could it be one of those?
