1. It's still there... I guess that's not entirely surprising given the price.
2. IIRC you need to put a price on it even for trades.
3. Not to be trusted. I bought an old PC from him; it showed up with a failing hard disk. He said he'd sort it out, and promptly went offline for some months. Since he's resurfaced I've messaged him twice; he's ignored it. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/289815-has-anyone-heard-from-rungles/page__fromsearch__1
4. Voice (especially as BV, but true generally). I'm so used to singing harmonies, I can't remember the line I'm supposed to song. Not that I can play anything well.
5. Photocopy the page, cut out the notation, and assemble it onto blank pages.
6. Agree there will be import duty; Russia is not in a customs union with the EU.
7.
Hi mate - you might want to embed the photos here in the thread. Clicking on Photobucket sends me into a never ending stream of pop ups and ads, and I'm not the only one.
Thanks. In my own defence, it's much worse than when I started the thread, but yes I need to do something about it.
8. These are nice, especially for what they cost
9. Thanks tommorichards. I think I will have to do that. Or possibly defret the lot.
10. Up you go. Though this is looking pretty pointless, really.
11.
If you are going out and working and taking money in return for your services then it is wise to adopt a professional approach. That means ensuring your equipment is safe. Safe to use for you and your band members, and safe for the customer/public who may come into contact with it, e.g. hold a microphone. I remember when PAT testing, (which has been around certainly since the 1960's), was brought to prominent attention in the workplace in the eighties. I won't recount the numerous horror stories that I and others found but suffice to say don't take chances, life is too precious. The best way to comply with HS legislation is to regularly PAT test all your equipment and keep records. I may sound like a boring old fart but I'm still alive after spending a life-time working on and with electrical/electronic equipment, and to my knowledge I haven't killed anyone through negligence. And none of my students should have either. Accidental death by electrocution is preventable, so help prevent it. Here endeth the sermon. Amen.
Completely agree. The first time I ever PAT tested anything I found a four-socket extension lead which would have burnt the building down sooner or later. "Oh I was going to get that looked at..."
12. One of our guitarists uses a Breedlove electric-acoustic. Lovely instrument. Good luck with your sale!
13.
Come to think of it, why the hell ISN'T instrument upholstery already an industry? You can find shells for your mobile phone in every corner shop, yet you can't seem to find a velvet draping for your P-bass.
Why does that sound like an euphemism...
14. Seller is very clear that it's collection only... Fakenham is NW of Norwich.
15.
Hmmmm, interesting. Could very easily stick another P pickup in there and have a fun little bass. Anybody know what the necks are like on these?
Aaargh... I've been hoping for a decent cheap one for ages (I want to defret it). Missed it! The neck is a treetrunk. It weighs a ton. The pup is a touch on the puny side. None of these are my thing, but I will never get rid of the one I've got. Great bass.
16. Curtains. Or cushions. Could be either one.
17. I'd like a fretless version, it would suit my playing
18. In my experience GAS is a condition caused by having more money than sense. It is self-curing.
19.
Certainly a nicer bass. My first thought was Ibanez SR or SRX - modern ones use the same bridge and the control cover's the right shape, but other things don't match up. So not that, but something related - a different Ibby, or something from the same factory - a Cort, maybe. Edit - pups & bridge would match a Cort GB74.
Wouldn't SR/SRX have a 2+2 headstock? (I actually like the headstock shape, for some reason. I think it's because it's so resolutely non-pointy.)
20.
New price: 395 gbp I remind you that the bass is MINT and in full working order.
It's worth editing the thread title so that people can see the new price, IMO.
21. Pretty! It would probably help if you inclluded the word "fretless" in the thread title
22. On hold.
