I can't answer that for you I'm afraid. Such a personal choice. I can say I have been through a lot of flats and have gone back to the La Bella's.
-
The Chromes are a little bit more taught I would say, the La Bella's come in L, R and H, gauges if I remember correctly. I use the FL-lights.
-
Jeez..you couldn't get much differtent from the Roto flats and TI's with regards to tension. I like the Ti's but found that A string way too floopy for me. The La bella's are a good in-between. Enjoy the bass.

A very little know fact but in about 82 we used to practice in Kensington studios and this one time it was double booked so they chucked us in the space Motorhead had been using. The backline was all there's, don't think it was their on the road stuff but a huge wall of Marshals and a peavey bass head and couple of blackwidow 2' 15's (think it was). The owner said the pa and settings on everything had all been left by the band the evening before. We plugged in all excitedly only to find we sounded like absolute stinky poo through those settings I still think we were lucky as the only other room choice was where the Boomtown rat's had been lol.

I think I have to agree. Normally the first thing I think I have to do when I get a new bass is change the strings, but I picked up a used Ibanez atk a few months back and had intentions to change the strings, but after a while I contacted the seller to ask what strings were on there as they suited the bass so much (and they were Picato steels which I had never tried) of course from flats to rounds etc is a different thing. But maybe give it sometime if it's a used bass to find out

Yes just heard. Had to watch this again...

There such a thing as a tone knob. The feel of each bass is slightly different as well, the 73 has a pretty fast neck and the roadworn a bit more meaty..

The secret I found to the Rumble is that you drive the gain hard, mine's around 1'O clock with a passive P bass and you can get a bit of drive and throttle with that. I use a Dark Glass vintage tubes as well sometimes for a bit more cut and harmonic over-drive.

If you can find somewhere to try them all that would be best Love my RW P with flats for that kind of thing.

Thanks for posting the photo's. Certainly not your usual Wal, but if the sound and playability are there you were very lucky.

Great band with a huge body of work. I saw them on this recent tour, first time I had seen them live again in over 30 years! They didn't disappoint, played for almost 3 hours.Very impressive. Love the hypnotic layers they have in their music.

Play it with anything you like, no rules. Just add tone knob to taste

Not too many for me this year about 20. Started a new band so a lot of time/work has gone into getting that gig ready.

First pics of mine on the operating table. Incomming Feb 2018.

lol Dave, P's really are that good especially for the gig playing man or woman. I had 4 of them at one point. edit: to try not be sexist.
-
Could be that, all I know is I find unlined versions easier, it could be that I'm just more relaxed without the lines
-
Sorry I wasn't more clear, 2 Fender P's and 2 Ibanez's (the Ibanez's are an ATK and Musician)
-
Few! I'm down to 4 basses from 7 now 2 Precisions, and 2 old Ibanez's the ATK and a fretless Musician. Do I have GAS under control at last? One new incoming in the early new year, but been waiting the better part of 20 months for that. Anyone else cutting or collecting? Tell us what you have coming?
-
Found a video but it dosen't give much away
-
Just when I thgought the GAS was out! Edit to say they are a little more expensive than I was expecting I have had a Masterbilt Epiphone accoustic guitar for ages and been good quality, still.

I'm very intrigued to see Stu's bass... it does seem a bit odd we haven't seen any of it still ?

He's a bit like a McCartney to me, great song writer and bass player and musician. From reading his biography I came to understand his ego a bit more.
