1. Very nice. Classic! I also recently swapped out a 69/70 P I had, but kept my 72/73 as it sounded better and also seemed to have more variation in tone as you mention.
 2.
Is this something you do regularly, and if so how do you use it to improve the music? It follows on from my thread 'Playing with Pros'. The ex-pro I recently worked with recorded everything, then sent me the tracks over the internet. I found it interesting, but it led to more heat than light in the end. I'm just trying to work out if it's a concept I should try in the future, never having done it before. Views most welcome...
I do it a lot, I find it helps a lot in hearing back what's working and what isn't, especially when working on new material. Also helps me erradicate some mistakes and sloppyness.. The others find it useful as well.
 3. Very nice. That Goth EUB must come out for special occasions.
 4. Yes he was a real on-off in all departments. I often ask my guitarist to do a bit of Chuck in the rock and roll type stuff we do and he never does. Maybe cop a bit of ZZ Top that's about it.
 5.
Hmmm, I don't need it but will probably get one to try it at some point
It gets it up close to ear level and even at low volumes it seems to fill the space nicely. I have mine like that at the practice space and whenever we get a gig with a decent size stage or outdoors I'll take it along.
 6.
So I got to use my 500 in anger for the first time on the weekend at a wedding gig. Wow. Everything I couldn't hear at modest volumes came alive when it was cranked. Just an incredibly powerful, ballsy sound with spades of definition, headroom (for me with FoH support) & yes, heft, in comparison with my Genz rig at least. With the bass at 9pm to tame the boom & treble just to the right my Jazz sounded fantastic all night. Didn't play with the voicings on the amp but used the bass's passive tone control & plucking positions for different sounds & everything sounded authentic. I was surprised at just how 'modern' this box can sound if that's your thing...when I set up & switched on I my bass was in active mode, so razor-sharp was the tone, real bitey hi-fi stuff. Turns out I was in passive mode & it was just the horn engaged on the amp. Something for everyone here. The fact that it practically floated out of the car & back in at load was the cherry on the cake So I've now fallen in love with this powerful little combo & wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone who's looking for something light, loud & capable of great tones with minimal faffing with controls.
Great! For even more goodness stick the 210 extension cab under it
 7.
I'll try to make a clip later today.
Moikka! Be interesting to hear it. See if it gets near to the Wal tone. The closest looking clone I have seen.
 8. It's all a matter of personal taste I guess. Iron Maiden, there I said it! a couple of decent tracks I can listen to but the zzz's set in pretty quick for me
 9. That's the thing hearing them in the mix. If you're not after lightweight and like what you have now then maybe not worth the risk. I went from 2-112 Aguilar GS cabs to the Rumble, they had far too much lowend for me and not enough mid punch. (in the mix)
 10.
The Pleasuredome album credits Mark O'toole from the band and Trevor Horn. There's some nice basslines on it and I know Trevor's no slouch with four strings.
Or 5 for that matter. Wasn't Normans bass sampled for "Relax" no idea but, O'toole was pretty handy when not drunk or otherwise engaged
 11.
Well it sounds excellent! I hope to be impressed in the shop tomorrow. How have you found it for durability/reliability?
Touchwood mine has been fine, I guess something has to give at that price point, hasn't missed a beat still in a couple of years of solid use.
 12.
Highfox that sounds great! Were you going through the pa or backline only?
Thamks, Thats just backline. Just for the record my other live rig is a Tonehammer 500/ or Genz shuttle 6.0 through a Genz neo 212t and I prefer the Rumble for what I do.
 13.
Just got one of these. Really portable & really loud but inherently boomy as hell I'm finding. I'm not the only one as well, this opinion pops up a fair bit. Definitely not replacing my Genz gear, yet at least.
I found the secret to the sound I like on mine is to drive the gain hard, maybe 1 0'clock a slight bump to the bass and treble the rest of the eq at noon and with a P that cut's and isn't boomy at all imo. Edit, Not sure I would call it boomy? Vid with the 500 combo on it's own from a party I had at my place this summer, recorded on a gopro. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g4B9Ov7wUrw
 14.
Hi folks, Seriously tempted to get one of these little fellas, they seem incredibly light and compact but chuck out some big noise! I've searched the forum and found a lot of positive vibes from last year and beyond, but just wondered if everyone's still so positive after using them for a good while? (as I know new shiny things can build a lot of excitement!) We are a loud pub/wedding rock band essentially, 100w valve half stack and 50w valve combo, backline only, vocals only through the pa..... would the rumble keep up? Obvs bigger events with a proper pa, everything would go through it, but those are rare. Grateful for any experience/insight from owners! Cheers all!
I like them a lot, been using it for a couple of years now. As I mentioned I prefer the drive and harmonics that combo gives me over more expensive gear I have. I also have the extension cab for when I need it (which is never really) as the combo alone can go silly loud. Depends what lind of tone you are after, but it still works for me.
 15.
Your right you dont actually! It was one of Petes few last basses too, very sad. He put the Mk3 neck joint on for me as well. Killer bass !
Very nice. I thought it looked a bit hybrid, couldn't work out why, what with the maple neck as well.
 16. Thanks, I just grabbed the G channel. Was going pretty cheap, I'll update once we have recorded some new material.
 17.
My Wal's I did once before post these photos on the Wal Facebook thing but i got my life back and dont do Facebook anymore : ) Its so liberating lol.
Very nice. You don't see many maple necked Wal's.
 18. Sad, I got into Holger and Jaki through Wobble's stuff. True Pioneers for sure.
 19. I bought a used Darkglass vintage tubes a while ago and alsways had it on my board, a couple of weeks ago it started playing up, unresponsive controlls and distorting through by-pass. Contacted Darkglass for a possible solution, they asked me to return it which I did, a few days later I got it back working and they had even cleaned it up after all the road use. Great customer service, seem like one of the good companies out there A+ Just thought I would share.
 20. As Baroniahall mentions, how many of you have had actually failures with your instrument? I have had a string go a few times but not much else? I have a few basses but (hardly every) carry a spare unless it's a top paid gig. Maybe I should do more often. I'm more inclined to think my amp would give up than my bass and I don't carry a spare one of those. Just call me an amateur
 21.
Yup, dose are da fellas.
Cheers.
 22.
Just in case no one gets back to you, I have a Countryman Kala U-Bass rip off and it takes 2 3-volt CR2032 batteries.
Thanks Len.
 23. Harley Benton Kahuna. Can anyone help me out and tell me what the battery numbers are for this? Took mine out ages ago as I wasn't using it and now have misplaced them. Can't find the info anywhere. Thanks.
 24. Good advice. They say the whole series is thinner (less chunky) than the old BB series, so they must be, just don't feel that great to me somehow. I'll stick with what I have for now.
 25. One of the new series? It felt largeish to me and I often use a 50's Roadworn P bass and a 72 Fender P that's a bit of a slugger.
