1. Nearly everyday I would say. No structured practice, learning songs I like or trying to record stuff when it's at home. Practice with the band(s) is usually a couple of times a week and gigs roughly each month. The more the better for me, it is a type of therapy,
2.
Wal GAS has hit again It could get costly.
Know it. ..and be a lengthy wait if you go for new...
3. Very nice, tempted to flog off my USA Jazz and get one of these
4. Looks like a torture rack. Bet it's going to be great tho.
5. Can't really go wrong with "The Harder They Come" soundtrack, for some easy listening rocksteady, ska, reggae
6. Good review of this bass. I'm still loving my RW and it's one bass I won't be moving on. Awesome chunky neck that seems to give it an extra kick.
7.
It's been there a few weeks alread and at those prices might be there a while more. Only in my opinion of course.
Edit. That Warwick Star bass looks pretty tasty, had one of those shame I didn't get on with it.

9. Both will do it for you. The P bass is simpler to eq, just plug and play,no fuss and you'll fill your spot, with a jazz for some reason I need7tend to fiddle more with the controls . Both can sound great, but have different feels of course. edit: must get myself some reading glasses lol, all the editing!
10. That is nice! Like the idea it's passive. Lots of bite still.
11.
I'm just repeating La Bella's own advice. I don't usually string anything through body as I can't hear or feel any difference. I've never broken a La Bella flat but I have once broken a TI flat and once a Pyramid flat too.
I know what you mean. On some of them it's a must, think my old 52RI was string through only.
12.
Ordinary La Bella flats are NOT for through body eg 760FL.
Yes, I know. I never had one go snap on me yet (still)
13. I have used both on my JB, in fact on all my basses and string thus. The LaBella's in the FL gauge, I found roughly the same tension as the Fenders 45-100 , The LaBella's seem to improve with age where as in my opinion the Fenders go off a bit and seem to lose some thump and dynamics to my ear. I used the Fenders for a few years, then switched back to LaBella's again. If any of that helps. It's good to experiment a bit with flats. You can dig-in to your hearts content in those gauges of Flats. edit to say, I like a 45-100 in rounds.
14. Hardly hear anything of him on here. Guess it's all that Kajagoogoo nonsense Great melodic player dispite the poppyness and scary look! Could he hit our underated bassist group? Not sure if it's been posted before but I enjoyed watching him recording with the chapmanstick ( do we count that as a bass?).. I know he has been playing it for donkeys years. Still got some chops on him. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lmZxoxUNv4g
15.
Oh my! Is there an NBD thread for this that I've missed?
That is a beauty and bet it sounds as nice as it looks.
16.
Generally I'd agree apart from that tuition video on YouTube where's he's teaching how to slap on a flea bass. Not keen on the sound coming out of that bass at all personally but maybe that's just me.
I agree, that clip is a bit rank. Lets correct that by saying any decent quality bass
17. Is it only me that thinks he sounds the same no matter what bass he's playing!? (great)
18. I also had a 77 P very nice bass but weighed a ton like a lot of them from that time seem to. That was the reason it had to go.
19. Must post something. C'mon guys show us your builds. Maybe these long Wal build lead times are ok in some respects. Gives me months to decide what facings I'd like to have. Padauk or American black walnut are my favourites from the standard choices. Bit hard to know unless you see them in the flesh!
20. Seems to be a very nice one for sale here now!
21.
Cheers. I have no idea!! Didn't even think to do that. Fell free to have a go
Comes back as a 1970 neck plate
22. Nice, like that lots. out of curiosity what happens when you put the serial number on the neck plate into the F database?
23.
22 months to build a bass guitar!!! Are they growing the trees to build the things with? How come Status and Overwater can build and deliver them in 10 to 12 weeks nevermind months? Maybe these guys need a Dawn Green to kick them up the back side.
I'll let you know if it was worth the wait in a year or two !
24. Nice one Rob I'm in for the long haul.. could still be the full 22 months for me. Lets have a look and a chat about what people are having built or received.
