http://basschat.co.u..._1#entry3005362 I've never used one, but lots of people refer to them being extremely loud for their conservative rating...
I used to have a set of those in the 112 variety, found them a little bass shy for my liking. The Rumbles kill them for tone imo.

I don't enjoy the musak but what great light show's.. was blown away by all that. I almost managed to watch all the songs this time. Forgot to add that, "real" instruments seem to be very out of vouge.Maybe 3 or 4 tracks I could hear hear something close to an electric bass
I would also rather watch Bubinga5's cat having a 5hit. It is however pretty much guaranteed I'll be subjected to it, so if it's unavoidable I'm going to use it as an exercise in establishing the key and progression for each tune. A couple of high quality beers will help dull the pain too.
I like that idea

I have only ever done one where we did 4 sets of about 45 minutes in the one night and never want to do it again. First set started about 7pm and the last set finished around 2.30am. Count the load in and out and travel home and it was near on a 12 hour thing. Fairly well paid, but we all agreed never again. Might be ok if your a whipper snapper or a full time pro with no other responsibilities.

Thankfully I gave up long ago worrying that all other bassplayers were better than me. Put me off big time and felt very selfconcious and uncomfotable most of the time. Now I just put it out there the best I can and like to think the passion and love (yes love!) I give it makes up for my lack of technical skills I don't think having a decent bass is anything but a good tool to be using.
Aaaaaah a video of a man playing exactly the number of notes specified on his invoice! Such a phoned in performance in so many parts, as befits Mr Berry's reputation. A while back I got a DVD of Bo Diddley and Chuck Berry backed by an All star backing band to review. Bo's set turns into a party jam at the end. So after the end of Berry's brief set Ronnie tries to coax Chuck over his contracted note limit in a similar way. Chuck puts the guitar down on stage and walks off. Not to be deterred Ronnie pulls him back on and physically places the guitar strap over Chuck's head. After a minor contretemps Chuck finally relents in poor grace and Ronnie thinks he's won. However, what Chuck does is starts playing THIS not one of his rock and roll classics while if I recall correctly Daisley, Chen, Sarzo, Hammond Jr., Philanganes and Wood try to work out what is happening... Once you know that, the best bit of this clip is the cutaways to Ronnie Wood being a mixture of totally bemused and trying not to be absolutely furious!
Nice story. Seems Chuck didn't give a F##k, a true Punk lol.

Here's mine when I get the chance.

I bought one of these when I got my Mac, fairly expensive but pretty good quality, we do a lot of demo's using it with Garageband or Logic Pro. One to consider if you plan on recording 1 or 2 instruments at a time. http://www.apogeedig...om/products/one

If you have been playing a while already the muscle memory should be there, so it's just a matter of using the ears and shifting a bit when ness. I'd say it would be harder than fretted if your just starting out, a good ear and a few lessons to know what to aim for would get you underway.
I bought some of the Fender Grolsch-alikes. Work really well, and you get both a black pair and a pinky-red pair in the pack (for extra authenticity I suppose).
I use those as well, work nicely. I don't sling the bass about round my knees anymore so no worries of it coming off

Sounds and looks like a great setup. GAS has firedup!

I'm all fingers but will use a pick when I think the tune needs it.

He's good. deffo talanted, great video and editing skills as well. Too cheesey for me but sure the teenie girls love it.

Funny story the soundman was telling after Wilko Norman and Dylan played here, says he asked Dylan what he wanted through his monitor and he said anything but none of Normans Ferking bass

IMO, it's a great bassline and it takes a bit of skill and feel to noodle it that nicely. Never realised it was orgionally a B-side and guess that's why they left it fairly loose like that.
Rather embarrasing this, I was so tied up with the amp's controls I completely forgot about the bass's volume control...... x1000 Hell it's loud, can't believe the wall of noise this thing emits.
Glad it was an easy fix

Bit more drive /od on this version. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=79LnaLLLwnY
I read that three times and every time it came out as 'light, punchy potato'. I think I need a brain scan.
Maybe you do if your selling your Rumble!
*FLORB is the new HEFT.
Certainly is, when I think of heft I think of an 810 with an SVT on top, Florb is ok for me if it means a light punchy combo.
https://youtu.be/FguIccFNaqo The sound of the bass is coming from Rumble 100 directly but not properly mic'ed up. Recorded with Zoom B1. Bass is not loud enough in the mix hence the headphones are needed to hear the sound of the bass well.
Nice version.
-
That's not a bad idea!
I have said it before, I think those Rumble cabs add a lot to the sound.. I have DI'd my Rumble combo for recording but much prefer the sound I get when the cab is mic'ed up.
-
+1. I've found it sounds great set flat, no shape buttons in, Gain at 12 o'clock and wind up the Master. Sounds great.
That's good for me as well.
I can't believe how light the range were, probably the lightest rigs around £ for £. They sound alright too. The 500's are loud too. Not sure how they would stand up to gigging I don't think they would like to be mistreated at all, although construction is good.
I've been gigging my combo for almost 2 years, ok so that's only about 1gig per month, but practice sessions at least once a week as well. I'am careful when I cart it around, but it's so light it's easy to shift it carefully.
