Cool. He seems like he's a really nice guy as well from what I have seen and heard. That just makes it better when they are nice people as well.

Looks ok to me as well. I have a 73 with the tugbar on the treble side, it also has a strap button on the headstock. I bought it used so someone may of added that on as well. Edit, mines a 73.

Here is a really helpful video comparing pre and post EB basses; the difference between the two sounds is very clear! You'd be able to find a good one on here I'd say for about £700 upwards. I personally prefer the 2eq pre EB's, they go for a bit more but have a sound of their own that I couldn't find on a modern Stingray. I haven't tried a classic but that would be my 2nd choice.

I remember some fun parties in the 80's when DJ's would toast over some good reggae tunes, that was about the dance and soundsystem They just had some kind of DJ festival here, the videos I saw were people pumping fists to a stage full of monitor screens flashing bright images. I just don't get it! Should point out I was around for the rave thing as well and never really got that even when I was on one Prefer a band and live music, Old Fart and proud.

Yes, they are a bit chunkier. That's one of the things I like about them ( I have a Roadworn 50's P) Chunkier and wider than my early 70's P as well... and they seem to sustain for ever...

There were a lot of great live bands around in the 80's.. won't comment on the tosh that was played on the rmain-stream radio. Also music programmes like The Tube in the 80's were pretty good at giving unsigned and up and coming bands a chance to be heard. It was the best time for live music for me,

U2 Nah, someone like The Specials if I had the chops and can say they are still going.

I have bought stuff off here on about 10 occasions and never had a problem. A bonus is that those people have also been prepared to ship overseas (tho at my cost of course) which really is appreciated. Haven't sold anything on here yet, so still have to experince it from that side. But all good so far.

Haven't seen a thread for it and fairly interested to see who's had what. I have had 5 to date and still own 3 of them. 4 precisions and 1 Stingray -- still have 2 of the P's and the Ray.

Even tho they are not valve, the new Fender Rumbles (V3) combo's can sound fairly old school to me. If you can get the chance to try one. Edit to say, you might be pleasently surprised
