1. Overall design you like, sound you like, but not the necks. You do know Fender P's come in a wide range of different sized necks from chunky to Jazz width?
Yes, how does it sound? I've just purchased the 500 combo myself and not sure which extension cab to get for it. Thinking between the 210 or the 112. Also - adding to the weight could be the side handles?!
It just sounds like more of the 500. More air being pushed so a little more feel as well. I think you could be right about it being the handles that make it heavier, hadn't thought about that.

Thanks Lozz, hopefully it kills my amp cabinet GAS for a while. Funny that I have gone back to 4-10's. Now tho they are stacked a little more sensibly than the old 410 box. Guess what I really need all along was an 810
Great, let me know... I've kind of got GAS for a Rumble Combo... probably never need the extension cab, but if I do get one I'd want it to match the combo... my OCD won't allow otherwise...
Yep, can confirm the 210 extension cabinet is the same size as the Rumble 500 combo. So it's now 2 times the goodness. Strange that the extension cabinet is slightly heavier
  5. Thanks for this, I just ordered some to cheat on my DB and stick some on the side of the neck

The new Fender Rumble 210 extension cab arrived today. Gave it a quick try with a Shuttle head and Stingray, sounded nice punchy and tight. Can't wait till tomorrow at practice to pair it with the Rumble 500 combo
  8. I have used it DI'd a couple of times and have had no comments from the sound guys. I'll have to check next time out.
  9. I currently have 4 Precisions. one fretless, one rosewood and one maple and also a 51 RI. Never bored swapping them around. The first P type bass I had was an Ibanez Blazer, in fact my old school and band mate still has it (lent it to him for recording in about 1990) Told him to hang onto it till I needed it back.
  10. I think there is also some compression going on with these Rumbles, they seem to tighten up very nicely. I have another 210 cabinet on the way and can't wait to try it out hopefully next week.
  11. something simple like Lizzy's dancing in the moonlight
  12.
I think under UK law it's actually illegal.
Only the guitarist... speaking from personal experience.
  13. I gig my 1970 P, it's already had it's fair share of knocks so nothing there for me to worry about. Unlike a new bass. As far as running repairs I just had the pickups rewired (not rewound) as one of the wires had come off one of the coils. I also had a new nut cut when I bought it and had the input jack replaced.. it's a few years away from a re-fret, other than that it's been good to go.
  14. Very nice. Great Dad. Edit to ask, does he play anything himself, he obviously knows a bit about bass gear?
  15.
Just to further complicate things... I used the TH500 again at last night's rehearsal and it was sounding brilliant!! Full, warm and rich and just sitting perfectly in our band mix! Still that "edge" to the sound (that I tend to think of as "distortion") but maybe that's just part of the character. Tone controls all set flat (except for the treble which was at around 2 o'clock) and drive fully off. Boosting mids or bass at all causes the clip light to come on... Maybe I just needed more time to get used to this amp, I dunno. Anyway, it's off for its service this weekend so maybe we'll get to the bottom of whether it has a fault or not!
I can push mine a good bit before any clipping starts, even with an active bass. Even at silly volumes at 4 ohms and a 212. Once it's been looked at you'll know where you stand with it. These are pretty versatile amps imo.
  16. Nice bass bump. I have a 70 in almost the same spec and would never dream of letting it go.
  17. Great showcase. Good luck with the basses, they sound and look great. Davie504 is pretty awesome as well The guy is just 20 and has chops like that.
  18.
Looks like week 42 1966
Thanks. That's what I was hoping.
  19. Hi. Just taken a part one of my older Fenders. If poss can anyone tell when the pot dates to please? The other one is covered in solder and unreadable atm.
  20. Got one, love it. I use a 12" cab under it at practice and for some of the larger gigs. The 210 combo goes loud and tbh never had a problem hearing it, I just like to move a bit more air and having it stacked I hear it better. I have just gone and ordered another Rumble 210 to match it with. Seems I prefer 10's again to 12's. I have a few rigs and prefer the Rumble over the more expensive stuff I have, just suits what I'm doing more and has a great look imo
  21.
I don't think so.... but he seems a really helpful bloke Drop him an email - you never know, he just might
Thanks Marc. I have a set of 1970 pickups that seem to be low on output, getting them checked and re soldered to see if that helps. If it doesn't I think I'll get onto him. Cheers.
  22.
I think they're his own pickups, handwound by Mark himself.....
Thanks Marc. Next question, I wonder if he sells them separately.
  23.
Irrespective of the loveliness expressed in the previous comments, aren't Fender simply alienating potential buyers by selling a West Ham themed bass? Look, I'm never buying another Fender, plus I am a lifelong Chelsea supporter - through the ups and downs - and I wouldn't be seen dead with a bass, irrespective of how good it is, in West Ham livery. P
I guess there is a worldwide, albeit neiche market for these. Some of them maybe don't follow football and just think it's extra cool to have a Team logo on the bass. I'm in the club myself where I wouldn't want any Team logo or extra artwork (that I don't put) on my bass. Looks the Bizz otherwise .
  24.
Sounds like Markbass might be a good bet, you'll probably get on well with that F1 :-)
Or the GB Shuttle's, they are as clean as a whistle when you want. Assuming you haven't had one.
