1. Hi. Just taken a part one of my older Fenders. If poss can anyone tell when the pot dates to please? The other one is covered in solder and unreadable atm.
2. Got one, love it. I use a 12" cab under it at practice and for some of the larger gigs. The 210 combo goes loud and tbh never had a problem hearing it, I just like to move a bit more air and having it stacked I hear it better. I have just gone and ordered another Rumble 210 to match it with. Seems I prefer 10's again to 12's. I have a few rigs and prefer the Rumble over the more expensive stuff I have, just suits what I'm doing more and has a great look imo
3.
I don't think so.... but he seems a really helpful bloke Drop him an email - you never know, he just might
Thanks Marc. I have a set of 1970 pickups that seem to be low on output, getting them checked and re soldered to see if that helps. If it doesn't I think I'll get onto him. Cheers.
4.
I think they're his own pickups, handwound by Mark himself.....
Thanks Marc. Next question, I wonder if he sells them separately.
5.
Irrespective of the loveliness expressed in the previous comments, aren't Fender simply alienating potential buyers by selling a West Ham themed bass? Look, I'm never buying another Fender, plus I am a lifelong Chelsea supporter - through the ups and downs - and I wouldn't be seen dead with a bass, irrespective of how good it is, in West Ham livery. P
I guess there is a worldwide, albeit neiche market for these. Some of them maybe don't follow football and just think it's extra cool to have a Team logo on the bass. I'm in the club myself where I wouldn't want any Team logo or extra artwork (that I don't put) on my bass. Looks the Bizz otherwise .
6.
Sounds like Markbass might be a good bet, you'll probably get on well with that F1 :-)
Or the GB Shuttle's, they are as clean as a whistle when you want. Assuming you haven't had one.
7. It can do pretty subtle, but I only use it fairly cranked for full effect. I think the VT bass is another good option to be looking at, I've been tempted.
8. I use one and sometimes with a Shuttle 6. Not sure what you want to know? It goes from a little dirt to full on fuzz. You can also blend the bass and treble so you lose no bottom end and can also make it brittle up top. I just use mine as a stomp box when I want more drive/ dirt First OD - Dirt pedal I have used so can't compare it to anything else. Edit to say it is V1 and I use it at 18v.
9. Anyone know what Pups they put in the Limelight P's?
10. I thought Harris had gone through more varieties of basses than Clayton! Never tried those Harris sigs but they do look nice and like the chunk.
11. Nothing more to see here, lock it down I say.
12. I had a 4003 and loved the look and also the sound of it when recorded or soloed but in the band live it just didn't give me the thump and presence the P bass brought. I really wanted to keep it but just didn't feel I was doing it any justice keeping it locked in it's case most of the time, especially as it cost so much. Flogged it and bought a Pre EB Ray which I do use more and also had a bit of dosh left which came in handy. Bottom line I like them but give me a P, J or Ray anyday.
13. I can kind of understand why it might not of made the cut years back, but still sounding very fresh and groovy for 2015. They had the magic that's for sure. Whenever I hear Bernard like that, I know I'll never get rid of my Stingray even if he used P, J or anything else on the track
14. I had 2 of the classic line 112's.. Didn't really get on with them, not as tight and focused as I wanted. Depends what your looking for. I'd suggest you save up a little more or buy secondhand.. save you wanting to swap them later on.
15. Nice. I used to have one of them.. wish I'd hung onto it. GLWTS.
16. I don't think it should be distorting that easy, it's not a crappy guitar lead in the chain or something like that?
17. Sounds strange, I can get a clean sound with the gain still around mid-day and the drive down/off. Edit to ask, what are you putting it through?
18.
Like it - reminds me of my youth Anyway,I'd say it just needs a bit of thickening up at the bottom end. In other words make the bass, snare, and bass drum deeper and wider. Perhaps double up the bass tracks, pan them out a bit and put different compression on each, one with more bass boost...
I'd agree with Leon-ard on all that. Like it as well
19. Oh No! Why did I click this thread. They look very nice.
20. I think it works, it would weed me out
21. Never been a big fan but have liked the odd song. sounds good to me Good that they don't get stuck in a rut and aren't scared to try a new sound.
22. I like these kind of threads This and most of Gormans playing gave me GAS to want to own a Wal https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wtGeHeK2gaQ Here's another one I drove my mates nuts listening too all the time https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WWWVI2p_laM
23. One of my concerns buying the new 500 combo Rumble was the untested reliability question, using Aguilar and Genz gear for a good while now and never having been let down by them I had thoughts about the untested v3 Rumble gear. Roll on 7 months later and I have been using it almost exclusively for practices twice a week and a dozen or so gigs and it's been faultless. It's become my favourite for the tone and sound I'm after. As I have stated before I'm not sure if it's the combo's alone that knock out this killer tone or if the stand-alone heads and cabs do the same? I also have the TH500 and Shuttle 6.0 they won't be going anywhere but just not getting a look in with the slightly driven warm sound the 500 combo is giving me. Never owned any MB gear but know it's quality stuff and built to last... Guess it's all down to the sound you are after and what you think suits the music you are playing.
24. Put together a few clips from our last gig that a friend shot, (live sound) https://www.youtube....eature=youtu.be
25.
Well seeing as Fender recently bought out Genz, maybe their Rumble amps are worth having a look at?
I had a Streamliner Lozz and think it doesn't sound anything like my rumble v3.. not sure if it's just down to the cabinets?
