1. Look forward to your review. I just have my set flat most of the time, so it's an easy starting point.
2. I think and I could be wrong! But from what I have read the Fender v3 500w 210 combo runs at 8 ohms (around 320 watts without an extension) and spreads the load to 4 ohms and the full 500 watts when an extension cab is used. Not sure about the MB stuff.
3. The go loud and keep the punch as well. I have used the combo alone for a lot of pub gigs and never found it wanting.. I just like it more with a 12 under.
4. Not sure this is any help but, I have a few mini stacks, a GB shuttle 6, tone Hammer 500, a few cabs GB Neo 212 and 2 Aguilar Gs 112's. I like to swap and change a bit... But for the last 6 months I have been using the rumble 500 combo and love it, at larger gigs and rehearsal I stick the Aggie 112 under it and it gives me just the tone I like. I'd suggest if you possibly can try one out first before you move any of your gear on. MB gear is used a liked by a lot of people.
5. NP Lozz, glad someone else enjoyed it as I did
6. Anybody rate this bass wise? I know I'm behind the times but hadn't heard these versions. https://www.youtube....h?v=--3IOWYwc7g
7.
Squier is the new Fender...
Think that already happened in the 80's. I love my Fenders (there I said it)
8. Congrats and well done. I'm the opposite unless I'm digging in I don't feel the force. I do use some palm muting and soft thumb on a few numbers tho.
9. Lots of great Albums on here so far and a few I will have to check out. For me it would have to be London calling. Never got tired of listening to it since the day I picked it up in 1980. Edit, funny I did wan to mention Exodus and Grin and bear it as well.
10. For the Kids and Groovers, eveyone needs it! https://www.youtube....eature=youtu.be Digging out my old 45's.
11. In my opinion you can't go wrong with a Jazz in the arsenal.
12. That's what I have been using a clamp.. not GoPro but a knock-off brand. Nice vid and.. good idea Urbanx sticking ti down that end of the guitar
13. I have only played a few covers live and always try to put my own twist on them and never anything too demanding. For some reason I seem to struggle more with slow tempo ballad type songs .. even our own. Trying to be tasteful on what and what not to play, as well as dropping in and out, the amount of space you have to experiment with and how bad you can sound getting it wrong lol.
14. I guess it depends what P bass-pickup combo you have. I have a 51 RI Precision that I put a Lindy Fralin pickup in and the sound really changes a lot when you play with the volume pot. I guess it's a very hot pick-up, it's almost like a pre-amp or overdrive knob! My other P-basses are always on full or then off when on standby.
15.
Well after a couple of weeks wearing flats, quickly came to the conclusion that the 'Ray is better with rounds. Anybody fancy a set of EB flats cut to fit a 'Ray? going v cheap..
Told you so But never say never.
16.
I'm pretty sure that this Kay was like mine:-
That was my first one as well, got it S/H for 5 quid. I'm sure I was ripped off : Edit I found a picture of me playing it. .
17. My advice, don't take lsd before the audition.. I was stupid enough to do that once .
18. I had one of the MiK's, well made, nice sound and a joy to play. (whilst seated for me) I just couldn't get on with the strap pin positions and where that put the neck when I was in the standing position. Was sad to see it go but as I didn't want to use it live it had to go. Might be a good idea to make sure your comfortable with that.. It was one thing I had never even thought about. edit smelling
19. I like it just how I have it now (Fender Rumble 500 combo with an Aggie 112 stuck under it) I did get the chance to use Lemmys stack at a rehearsal space in Hammersmith many years ago, that was pretty mega, think it was some Marshall 12's with a couple of Peavey blackwidow 15 cabs (not for me tho lol)
20. Thanks Jerry. I guess you could say a lot of us here just fool around on bass compared to a lot of the talent you must of have seen and played with over the years.
21. Doing a small gig I stuck the Gopro on the end of the bass for a song or two. The sound is also recorded on the camera. Captures the unplugged sound a bit more I think. Not the busiest of bassline lol. No comments on my mistakes please. I had the fretless out as well, but not showing that. All things bass, so thought I'd post. 22. I have had very good service off them over the years. Bought lot's of gear off them, both for the band and myself. I have had 2 items replaced and fixed under warranty ( had both over 2 years) no questions asked. Free postage return and replacement. They have even forced the local music stores to be more competitive on pricing. I guess that has been hard for them but great as a customer.
23. The Harder they come. A clockwork orange. Halloween (78) The ones I have listened to the most.
24. The Fender Flats 45-100 have a nice balance and sound (and price) Been through most of the others and the Fenders are my choice. I found the TI's a little too low tension on the A string when I dig in, nice sound otherwise.
