1. I grabbed the 500 version today, had a gift card for the store so didn't have to add much from my own pocket It's pretty light and an easy one handed lift. Got a small gig /party next Friday I'll take it along and see if it copes, there is always the ext out but that defeats the idea of having a combo lol.
2. That is nice. Been waiting for my local store to get the new Rumble stuff into stock, was wondering if I should get the head... but looking at your pic I'm now gassing for a smallish combo I can cart around.
3. Sting maybe, tho the others could play a fair bit also
4. The one on the left is a Jap reissue 90's I think, Then a 1970 USA a 73 USA, and a Jap early 2000 fretless.
5. I normally get 45 mins or so vid at 720/30 fps with a decent set of batteries. Mine seems to buffer to about 4GB and then turn off. I have an 8GB card so it's not that.
6.
Busted
lol. That's a classic
7.
That really is a lesson on how to make me green with envy Don. Fantastic collection there.
Thanks Lozz. I really don't need them all, I just can't help myself. They all sound a little different and give off different vibes when I pick them up.. must be an illness.
8. My herd or gaggle of P's Got them all together in the sunshine. ]
9.
That looks lovely, is it an early '70's bass ?
Hi Chris thanks. It's mainly a 73 as far as I know.
10.
Macka B's new video, Medical Marajuana Card, is great, guaranteed to put a smile on your face. We'll be playing at the same festival as him in August, I can't wait to check him out:
Thanks, I enjoyed that
11.
My favourite year for Precisions. I've done the pre-CBS thing but find the basses from '66 to '73 the best players. Still light (for the most part), B profile necks, tort plates - what's not to like? I would look for an early 70's bass and you'll find it pretty much the same as that '66 and much cheaper.
I'd agree on that as well from my limited experience. Edit to say, especially if your after a player you can gig with and not a museum piece.
12. Bought a 73 P off Si. Communication throughout was great, Fast postage overseas, packaged and protected well couldn't ask for anymore. A delight to deal with as his previous feedback suggests. Oh and I'm, very happy with the bass
13. Thanks Guys. I have a 70 as well but that's an A neck and rosewood, one with flats the other with rounds was my thinking.
14. My new, mainly original 73 P. Always wanted a Sunburst and maple. Nice lightweight and lots of growl. Thanks to our very own Si for the sale ]
15. Think you might be right Paul with that part starting on the B ... funny I have been playing it wrong all these years .. you can teach an old dog new tricks
16. yes i used to watch him as well thrashing it down around his knees..Good days indeed
17.
that's the intro/outro the verse is different, the bit that starts "London Calling to the faraway towns"
you mean something like? Edit, nearly the same different position G |------------------------------------------------------ D |---------------------------------------------------- A |--7-7-----------8-8--------------- E |----------0575--------0575---33----0575----33-------------------------
18.
I'd imagined it as: G |------------------------------------------------------ D |--------------------10-------------------------------- A |--2-7--10-7-10------2-7--10-7-10--------------- E |-----------------------------------------8-------------
That's how I have always been doing it as well
19.
I'm no authority, with my 2007 3 eq Stingray (sounds great to me), but I would have thought that the '83 one would have been made after all of the truss rod problems. Wasn't all the woodworking done under licence by Charvel at this point, due to said problems with CLF? It would be the '83 for me, I think you chose well.
From my understanding, all those necks were either fixed thrown away or replaced.. be a bit rare and unlucky to get landed with one of those nowadays I'd imagine. Might even be worth more to some collectors
20.
Hello, my name is Bassnut and I am a musice-quipment-o-holic............
lol Bassnut, a man that knows himself. I seem to be fairly helpless or hopeless as well. One thread around January I quoted myself as saying I was now GAS free (and I believed it at the time as well).. bought 2 (nice) basses since then..
21. Hard choice lol. Will add I have an 82 toploader and it's great Enjoy the search.
