1.
Removed the pickup and the bridge cover but although I usually don't like flatwounds I've kept them on the bass..They give the bass a certain "honk" without sounding too bassy.. recorded a short clip with the bass.
Nice! I have a 70 in the same colour combo.
2. He's always got time for genuine people..been like that all the way back in his PIL days.
3. Great price! Someones going to be very happy. Shame I'm after one in natural and maple.
4. Love the basses, But the CEO seems to be on a mission.. The stereo bit is one pickup per output jack, not sure if the official cable gives you more?
5. I just jumped in and bought Logic pro X to go with the MBP.. The whole Idea was for a portable studio. Using the Drummer programme the an Apogee one to lay down the bass, vox, acoustic and electric guitar. Good fun to have so much control over everything and decent quality sound. Lot of fun trying to learn what I can and can't do I'm impressed.
6. They might be an Illusion with regards to an investment.... but they sure are nice
7. Another average Pub gig for us.. Most punters were too pissed to even know what planet they were on.. .. seems very hit and miss with these types of gigs.. think we have to start being a little more selective over our choice of venues next year, even if the gigs and cash won't roll in.
8. I'll just add that those 212's are awesome.. I paid nearly €1000 for mine new when I bought it! lol
9. Like a piece of fine art.
10. Well done, great design and awesome prize.
11. Nice cabinets I paid a lot more for mine a few months back, seems a great deal.
12. Thanks for all that dr. I might now have to wait as it seems I'm not first in-line for the pre EB I was looking at. No real harm as it will save me some £ and give me a good excuse (like I need one) to scan the basses for sale on here. All I know so far is that I'd like it to be natural with a maple neck and 2 eq pref.
13. Thanks. I'm kind of set on getting a pre EB and keeping hold of it this time. I think I really have too many basses already but been missing the Stingray since I sold it,
14. Hi. After a bit of advice, I'm looking at getting another MM Stingray (I stupidly let the last one go, it was a 97 I seem to remember) I'd like it to be in natural and maple with a 2 eq.. Are the pre EB's worth the extra, or would I be better off looking for a used Classic? I have my eyes on a 1977 atm and just wondering. Cheers
15. Ok, a few weeks ago I said I was Gas free.. Now I'd like another MM Stingray 2 eq but in natural and maple from the early 90's... if anyone spots one please shout.
16. Good luck with the sale, it reminds me of my old Warwick, had the same case btw.. had to do a double take when I saw yours https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/90499974/Warwick%20Streamer.jpg
17. Don't think they get them that good on x factor, do they? Think MJ and Prince crossed and you'll get close.
18. He was tarnished with the same brush as Jamerson for his melodies. Greatness to behold. Just to think at one time I turned down tickets to see the Who and went to see the Damned instead lol.
19. Sounds to me like your guitarist should stick to his 9-5. Good luck with that.
20.
Kay K1. The English language does not contain words with sufficient venom to describe how bad it was.
That was my first bass as well think I paid £5 for it secondhand back in 78. Moved onto an Ibanez Blazer after that
21.
Haven't try half rounds to behonest.
I have and thought they were neither here nor there! Stuck them on my fretless in the end.
22. Not really anymore, tho I did go through a fortune in flats trying to find the right ones. I solved the problem for now by having flats on everything bar the Jazz
23. Nice, but prefer the look of the Classics myself.
24. Quite a few! I'd like to think I grabbed a bit form Wobble and Simonon.. guess they were the two biggest influences from the start and got me playing bass. I might sound nothing like either, but there you go..
25. I had a pair of Classic 12" cabs.. pretty good (budget cabs) for the money, but ultimately they didn't have the punch and move the amount of air I wanted when playing with the band. I'd be looking at their pro-line stuff if I was going cabs again from them. Heard good things about the Reidmar, but never tried one myself.
