Yes, it's a lot of money, but still puts a lot of basses out of reach!

There must be something you have always really fancied, try that. I have been through a few good basses but getting a custom build done was the pinnacle for me, maybe it's the waiting for the build that makes it that much more special. I don't think I would ever want to move it on.

It's funny so many Wal's seem to of gone unloved. I know I had a hard time trying to find a fretted MK1 that someone was willing to sell.. waited over 6 months for one to come up on here. (maybe it was bad timing) For me the awkward basses have been..stingrays (the preamp, never could settle on a sound I liked) great playability tho. Ricks, just find they dull and slow up my playing Jazz basses , necks a bit too narrow (on the ones I owned and tried) Most semi-acoustic basses because of the strap pin positions There I said it...

I haven't really hated any, but a few have come and gone. Worst bass was definitely my starter bass a shortscale 4-kay from Wollies with an action a foot high..anything is ok after that.

Hi. I haven't had a chance to use it with the band yet! But I think it will work very nicely, you can blend in the clean and tube driven channel so you can lose no lowend. I never used the OD on the rumble, I had a Darkglass vintage tube pedal that I used to dirty it up when needed. I'm really liking the Vintage channel on the bassman atm, it very very nice pleased wit it so far.

It's the Hybrid version not the all tube Less than 8kg's. I'd go for the all tube I think if I didn't have to move it too much.

Decided to sell off the Aggie Th500 I had been using mainly as a stand by. I have been using the Rumble 500 and (sometimes) a 210 extension cab for most of my gigs the past few years..decided I like the slightly overdriven and compressed sound I get from the Rumble.. ..anyway long story short a Bassman 500 was going locally and managed to pick it up for the same price I sold my TH for. Happy camper with the Bassman so far and might trade a spare cab I have to stick a 115 or another 210 under what I have now and keep the Rumble 500 combo for smaller gigs or when I can’t be bothered to shift the other stuff. Looks cool, sounds great!

Enjoy the Ric, a true classic looks to die for. I'm in the camp of tried and failed with one

Had one, but didn't really get on with it. Never could find the sound I wanted for some reason. Gone back to a Sansamp for DI purpose when I need, find it a lot more flexible tone- sculpting wise. Plus the SCR was a battery hog, if not running it off mains!

They seem nice, just checked out a review. Just put my TH-500 up for sale locally, maybe I jump on one as well.

The Roadworn nitro is the one to have in my book, selected lighter woods me thinks.

Dave, thanks, He has been suffering from them for years and has regular medication to try stop them coming also when he gets attacks.. They don't know what is causing it, they have tried everything they can to try find out why and stop them! Still on-going regular treatment. I think it's a mixture of many things causing him to quit unexpectedly like this.. I have to respect his decision of course, we are still friendly and plan to keep in contact. Thanks for all the kind words.

5 years together and the singer guitarist decides to call it quits! Unexpected as we had gigs lined up and plans to record our new tunes etc. He suffers from bad migraines and often has to medicate himself before we do any live shows. Very sad he suffers badly with these. I just feel like a huge whole has been left, we gigged regular and that was my main social scene. The band was a trio and I felt musically I was developing my playing all the time, and was free to go wild I do have another band on the go, but they are a little less active. The energy is there to do something fresh but hard work trying to get something off the ground again. The going scene here is metal, rock and blues.. ok but not really earth moving or different. I'm sure we have all been there but just wanted to share (as always)

Congrats. I had one in the same flavor. Lusted after one for many years. Enjoy and hope it all works out and you find a keeper. (I had some issues with the saddles on mine, was a bit disappointed after it costing so much)

How does neck thickness and shape affect feel and playability?
Highfox replied to Greg.Bassman's topic in Bass Guitars
That's just cheating lol. -
Actually, I didn't feel I got that great cs when I was in there (just the once) But they did let me try any bass I wanted and left with the Warick and px'ed my passive pro Wal ,so can't of been that bad. I did live in West London so it was a bit of a journey out to Wapping or at least it seemed so at the time. Was Rose Morris for me "the store of dreams" lol.

So, just how many basses do you own ????
Highfox replied to musicbassman's topic in General Discussion
Getting Spector envy just looking at that list. Where do you keep them all -
I still use my neo Genz 212, use it with the Shuttle, Streamliner and now the Tonehammer all 500w and never run out of volume using that cab. Something not right me thinks.

Nice one. I have been gasing for a Jaydee for a good while now! Great to hear people are still happy with them One day!

Yes, that place, who remembers it? Just came across an old and tatty receipt I had for the Warwick I bought from Wapping. Think I told the tale before, went there with the anticipation of buying a MM 4 HH they didn't have any so walked out the door with a Streamer. used it for a solid 15 years so no regrets.
