1. It should sound great, keep us informed. I'd be a bit scared of all those knobs as well, I like the simplicity of the shuttle 6 and more recently the streamliner 6. Tho I have thought if I ever need to swap out it would be a 6.2 or 9.2.. but not the Max. I use one of those Neox 2X12T cabs as you probably know and can only imagine what 2 might sound like , I think richter graphs would be going off in Button moon!
So how much ACTUALLY this Promethean P3310 thing weighs? Thomann says it's 12kg (which is acceptable), but official Ibanez site says 37.4lbs = ~17kg!!! thanks Laimis
I'm guessing that some info has been mixed up, I think that 17kg or 19kg's is the weight of the 3115! and the 3110 is 12kg (hopefully) lol.

I've just ordered one of the newer style Promethean's from Thomann, couldn't find the old 500watt type anywhere .. Any problems and it will go back always had a good service from Thomann.
4. As much as I'm enjoying treading this thread (as a new owner of a Rick) ..with the utmost respect I think we should put this thread to rest now.
5. played it in anger for the first time with the band tonight, strung with flats and finger style it had more down low and mids than my P, no honk just very smooth. The other guys in the band commented on how sweet it looks and sounded. Thumbs up from me I'm a convert. I just need to get the treble bezel now to stop me losing my fingers in the whole left from taking the pick-up cover off lol. Edit for pic. https://dl.dropbox.com/u/90499974/me%20and%20Ricky.jpg yours truly a happy Boy.
6. I just tried a set of BB's on my Stingray, I enjoy the feel of them, but they are as dull as can be after 3 weeks. Even my 2 year old flats have more harmonics Not what I was expecting from some rounds
7. I've done it! Picked up a 2012 4003 in Midnight blue this afternoon:) I had the luxury of trying out 4 different 4003 Ricks... 3 new 2012's and a 2005, they all felt and sounded pretty good to me (I'd of gone with any of them) which I wasn't really expecting after reading a lot of reviews where people say you need to try a lot to find a good one. Maybe the 2012's are all decent or I got lucky. Got home and strapped on a used set of Labella flats and it sounds and plays the biz. Tomorrow I get to try it out with the band and have high hopes it will fit in nicely. One draw-back was getting a rather worrying text message later in the day from the Wife, asking if I had gone mad spending that much on a bass! I promised her I'd move one of the collection on and that seemed to smooth things out a bit. I'll try get some pics up within the next couple of days. Happy days indeed.

Sorry to hijack this thread but, I'm looking at getting a small combo for home use and wondered if you guys with the Promethean can tell me are the aux/mp3 - in and headphone outputs decent quality soundwise? I'd like something I would be to be able to playalong and practice songs. Also when you plug the headphones in does it disconnect the speaker output? Thanks.

NBD! :)

Nice one. I'm hoping to join the Club soon
10. There are not many that do as much melody as Maca on bass, even the earlier stuff .. This guy does some nice covers. ...and Maca says he stole the bass line from here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l2i8Z-c35y4
11.
some of you guys are obviously unsettled in life having to buy that many basses Out of curiosity is there a specific reason why you decided to buy or change your basses - as someone pointed out its better than some small retailers. Dave
I'd take a guess and say that some of us have been playing over a good many years I've been at it over 35 years. For me I just think (most) basses are a work of art, they each have their appeal and attraction. I had and used just the one bass for near on 20 years, seems this interweb thingy night be to blame for all this GAS lol. Edit: looking at your profile dmc, I see you have a year or 2 on me
12. I think a fair few of them used Flats as well But Roto's anyway.

Nice! Well done.
14.
Remember to bear in mind that if you sell the ray on here then you're more likely to get it back should you ever want it. Oh, and you'll probably get more
That's true Charic, but I did wonder who'd be willing to pay that bit extra to get it posted from Finland? PM me if anyone that reads this is interested.
15. Gentlemen/Ladies. An exciting day should be instore for me today and I can't keep it to myself! The tax return is in and after work I'm off to try some 4003's.. Luckily I have found somewhere fairly local that has a small stock of used and new ones in stock. Even a 2012 in Midnight Blue I'm taking my Stingray along to use as part exchange.. if they give me a reasonable exchange price on it .. otherwise it'll be coming back home with me. I'm hoping this will be my Gas killer and that I can get over this fixation of wanting/needing so many basses lol. I'll keep you informed.
16. SD Antiquity II's in my P's. Love them.
17. Congrats, nice playing. Not a fan of the vocals but everything else sounded good.

20.
As the tax-man is helping out Don, go for it.
Thinking about it seriously now and should really thin the herd so, the EBMM Stingray 4 has gone up for sale to help fund it.
21.
Its my 2002 model, one owner ( me ) I bought it new and it sat in its case for 8 yrs only being played for about 4 hours in total. Late last year I spent a while setting it up, replaced the Truss Rods, Impregnated the neck laminates with glue and set the neck straight and it plays so so easily ! I wasn't happy with round wounds so put the TI's on and it came to life. ( sounds magical through my Walkabout ) and the Guitarist in my band constantly comments on how good it sounds.
Thanks. That was going to be another question, are they really that bad to start out? I have the dilemma of whether to buy a new 2012 model or get something second-hand with the vintage switch say something from 2006 or so onwards, any-tips on years etc?.. nowhere round here to try one, so I'd have to be buying blind Mind you I have picked up 3 basses from Basschat and all have been good.
22.
Just looking at your avatar, maybe this will help.. http://parliamentfun...-bassist-p-funk
Lol, I kind of guessed where this thread might be going. Thanks Roland.
23.

Nooooooo! that's lovely, is it yours? tell me more
24. Please help me with my Rickenbacker 4003 gas, tell me how ugly they are and how crap they sound, the bad QC and tail-lift what horrible management they have and anything else that might put me off Getting close to Christmas and I'm due some tax refund, trying to shake the need for one of these in a midnight blue
25. With rounds, I'm still searching.. been through a lot in my 30 odd years of playing. Next on the list of rounds to try is the GHS pressure wounds... the story goes on Flats it's pretty easy LaBella's and the TI's work for me on all my bass's.
