1. They are great aren't they Never know how much Kudos goes to Jonesy for writing them but they sure have a lot of feel to them The London Calling album is just a masterpiece all round. God knows how much I have heard and played it ove the past 32 years but it never gets boring and there is always a track on there that will suit my mood. Viva le Clash! (it must be those white P-bass's doing it to you Lozz Grats on your purchase, sure is a beaut.
2. I'll let you know when and how long mine takes to show up in Finland as well, no real hurry as long as it gets here at some point,
3. lol, he plays triplets like me It had me doing the Funky chicken.
4.
Yes, he was great in Pil. I have a feeling he also played bass on 4 be 2's "One Of The Lads" (sadly lost on 12" many years ago!) I have dabbled in some of his later work (mid 90's), but it proved not to be a 'stayer'...perhaps I should have another look...?
Great song! I have 2 versions of it on 12" "one of the lads" and then it came out again as "another one of the lads" I heard that it was Youth from Killling Joke that played bass on it but that may of been it's second incarnation. Edit: Cool I found a version on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nyecFhGz3sY
5. I'm a big Wobble fan, he turned me onto playing bass with the grooves from PUblic Image Ltd. I too have had the chance to chat to him a few times and he will always give you the time of day. I followed him solo and caught him live whenever I could from the Human Condition up to the Invaders and a bit passed that... I could of been his no1 fan lol. Since I stopped smoking the Jazz weed a good many years back I find it a bit harder to get into hypnotic music and haven't really follwed a lot of what he has done in the past 10 years or so. The guy layed down some of the heaviest bass sounds I ever heard live and was never dissapointed in his groove or sound live.
6. The Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0 I bought new a couple of months ago has started playing up and admits a crackle and whooshing sound through both outputs and headphone socket! (even when there is nothing plugged in) It could be the tube or some solder joint thats playing up. I tried the amp at several different places and the noise was always present ... Anyway long story short it's still under warranty and I also have the option to swap it for a different model and going to ask them to send me a Streamliner out in it's place, I had no problems with the sound I was getting from the 6 when it was working but thought I'd try out the Streamliner for a change after reading a few good reviews. (and I like new toys)
7. I have 2 atm, a P with flats and a Jazz with rounds.. I like the thump with the P but tend to be a bit busier when I take out the Jazz, so depends on my mood But the guys in the band never sem to notice lol. Yes I try to use both.
8. I'd say you'd be doing the wrong thing! The BG500 is ok for a budget amp whereas a MB should be quality gear. (never owned a MB, but heard them a lot) My BG is now my home practice amp, it was missing some low end and punch for the sound I was after. It's been fairly reliable for a chinese made amp, tho I have lost a couple of the small preset memory buttons which is a bit of a pain, but I can dial the sounds in pretty easy now, knowing the amp. The post DI out seemed to distort/overdrive the signal a bit on mine as well, but gave it a colour to the sound I didn't mind. My advice would be don't downgrade... if your looking to change amps keep it with the better know/ proven models.
9. I really must stop looking at the Bass's for sale section. I already have enough trouble deciding if it's my Jazz or P's turn to come out and paly and adding a bute like this to the stable would give me even more headaches. I don't like mine to sit around collect dust. Nice bass, I'm sure someone will snap it up.
10. Hi Ped. How about us in the rest of Europe, what would you charge for postage?
11.
I am enjoying the Myung though. Currently the main instrument in my Prog Punk Band
We want a sound clip please
12.
That's two of them you missed the obvious though
It's not a Jazz neck on there is it? If not I give up
13. Is it the Seymour's and a different bridge?
14. Hi all. Wanted to try and personalise/pimp my P-bass a bit so swapped out the old black pup covers for some creame ones. What do you think?
15. Nice one, liked it, well done.
16. I use a Genz Shuttle 6.0 through a 4ohm 600watt 212 and theres plenty to spare for me. So I guess the 9.2 gives you the extra sound shaping and watts so.. why not.
17. Strange they are not shifting. Just thought I'd add that I bought myself a NeoX212T a few months back when I was looking for a single cab lightweight solution that would kick out a bit of OOMPH! and it certainly hasn't let me down. Great cab. Good luck with the sale.
18. Nice drum, bass tho
19. Bass lust would be a Fender P or J from 64, be nice to have one made the same year as me but don't think thats going to happen lol (unless it's a gift) Rig-wise.. think I'm ok as I'm now.. all GB gear.
20. Many Happy returns and congrats on a nice purchase.

25. I voted 45-105 with rounds, but couldn't vote 43-104 with Flats Rounds on my Jazz and Flats on my P.
