2. I've owned and loved a Yamaha RBXJM1 which was a truly wonderful sounding and lookinf thing, but the string spacing was slightly too big for me; and I also owned a Washburn XB-600 Bantam which was the perfect shape for me and the neck was perfect and the string spacing etc, but it didnt sound as full and rich as the Yamaha. 6ers are always a very personal thing. They have to be comfortable above all, but it's sometimes quite hard to marry the aesthetics, the ergonomics and the sound quality. You're always going to have to compromise somewhere. Truckstop
3. These cabs are wick! I have one and the sheer volume and bass that these things can provide is simply unreal! I've used it several times while depping for a loud rock covers band and it easily keeps up without distorting. For this money, it is a real bargain, and if I had the money/need for it, I'd buy it like that. Truckstop

5. My MIM jazz is great. I fitted a J-East though because I decided to become a one-bass kind of a guy and wanted a bigger tonal palette than it already had. I think I'm lucky too, it feels great, it's not too heavy, neck's perfect, feels solid and the finishing was superb (until I acted like a complete tool and decided to relic it.... and then re-finish it in the same colour it was before!) However, I do prefer the look of the USA Jazz V headstocks. The MIM ones look a little too long to me. Truckstop
6. That looks fantastic! How did you keep the headstock neat? Did you just use loads of masking tape and hope for the best? Cheers Alex
7. +1 on finding a source yourself Plenty of Foresters and Tree Surgeons keep offcuts to sell mega cheap. If you ask them nicely they might even cut it to size for you. I've got plenty of wood from the English Garden and Tree Co. in South Mimms before. Probably not the most amazing quality, but it's cheap and good for practicing. Truckstop

9. I'll be there with my rig in the sig! Do you require money upfront? Possibly by then I should have a little treat too. A Kay 2B pimped with badass bridge, J-East retro, rewired pups and a new paint job! Truckstop
10. Sold! To the gentlemen at the back! Cheers John Alex
11. I used my GK 400RB-IV with them for a few years and they coped very well, plenty of headroom. Sorry, I'd have no need for a guitar amp I'm afraid! Come on people; 2 4x10 cabs for £70! I really can't go lower than this, it's an insane price already! BUMP! Truckstop
12. PPRRRIIICCCCEEEE DDDRRRROOOPPPP! Truckstop
13. Bump for price drop and trades! Truckstop
14. Oooooh that is nice! I'm developing some real GAS for Wal's at the moment. They just look really classy! Truckstop
15. Bump for a pair of celestion loaded 4x10s for less than 100 quid!!! Truckstop
16. I have a solid gold one which I bought for £1m from Duke Kenneth Weatherington-Fearnhighstoneleigh (pro. Fanshaw) in the 1980's. I also have some Dimebag Darrell commemorative picks that I got for free. I hardly ever use picks so I still have 4 of them. Truckstop
17. Quite. I bought a Red Onion A/B to make switches between my bass and my Yamaha Big Blue silent, quick and easy. Truckstop
18. Had a little fiddle on this when I went to Jack's a while ago. It really is so unbelievably versatile. The range of tone you can get out of this thing is ridiculous, all at the flick of a switch! Bargain price too! AND! If you go to Jacks to pick it up, i'm sure he'll show you his amazing uses for cymbal cases and let you have a go on the most comfortable P bass ever! Truckstop
19. These are amazing basses and also quite rare to have the matching headstock! I had the newer 'Bantam' version for 6 years and loved it. Truckstop
20. Hello all, I need to get these shifted. They're just sitting there taking up all my space! They're Celestion loaded and they're rated at 240w @ 8ohms. They're in used condition, I've taken them on tour and the guy that owned them before me also went on tour with them. Nothing to worry about though, just a little rough around the edges and a little torn tolex here and there. Nothing serious at all. The actual Torque logos from the front of the cabs have been lost to the ravages of time for some reason. Looks pretty cool actually, just all black! \m/ Collection only please. I live literally a minute away from J22 of the M25 (AL2 1QU) and I live in a pub, so if you come by and grab them, I'll treat you to a lovely pint of whatever guest ale we have. Or a Bacardi Breezer, whatever you want! I have pictures of the actual cab, but I'm having difficulties getting pictures from my blackberry onto my computer. I can email them to you though, so if you want pictures, PM me with your email address and I'll get some sent to you. In the meantime, here's a link top a photo of one: Torque Fansite edit: Will accept trades for some nice effects, or maybe you have a couple of new sets of strings (5ers), or some nice cables etc; we can work something out. These cabs just have to get out of my life, taking up too much space and my Ampeg provides all the volume I need! Cheers Alex

I love reverb on bass and the Bluesky is on my list. However, I've got no money so I'm just going to have to pray that one turns up second hand eventually! I occasionally play in a little acoustic trio and a smidge of reverb really helps bring the bass out of itself, especially if you don't actually own an acoustic or upright bass. Truckstop
23. Excellent! Thank you all very much for your advice! Mic and D.I. it is then. There'll probably be a thread in a few weeks asking whether I've bought the right mic/D.I.! Truckstop
24.
....only because of their portability. Jack
and also because they sound amazing! I doubt you'll ever need to bother dusting off your Ashdown cabs! I played through a Compact at the East Anglia Bass Bash and the tone was unreal. Truckstop
25. Personally, if I suddenly wanted a black guitar, I'd sell my Jazz so I could buy a black one. There's so many different colours, styles, shapes, pre-amp/pick-up options that you can get an instrument suitable for any style. I think a lot of people sell their Fenders so that they can buy a different one to suit their needs better. For example, I sold my '54 RI because I needed a 5er, not because I didnt like it anymore.
