  1. Wow! That is a true vintage bass collection! Truckstop
  2. Gavin and Stacey is the wick, but anything he's done since has been cringeworthy! Truckstop
  3. Ha Ha, I get that a lot. I used to play in a death core band (death metal but played by chavs) and all I used was the Master Blaster as a boost for tapping and solo passages. But my new band's very Elbow/Mogwai/EITS kind of stuff so I use reverb effects A LOT! Crank up the decay time and used in conjunction with a volume pedal, you can get some pretty amazing swelling effects. When I used to have a fretless, a tiny bit of reverb would create a very convincing double bass sound. Truckstop
  4. Reverb! Truckstop
  5. Just make sure you're tapping as fast as possible. Don't worry if you mishit some notes, people will be too amazed to care. Truckstop
  6. Packed Lunch #Tigerblood#win! Truckstop
  7. Oh yeah totally. If I actually wanted to sell it, I'd have to get realistic! Truckstop
  8. Where are these pictures? Been waiting half an hour now.... I'm er... really interested in buying the bass... Truckstop
  9. If someone were to buy mine off me, it would have to be at least £500. They're great basses, are made just as good as the CIJ RI's, sound just as good and look the nuts and they regularly go for around £500. Why should a '51-'54 RI be any less? Truckstop
  10. The page itself is a great idea! How many of us have faffed about making sodding press packs? Although the music's not really my thing, I enjoyed it and felt it was well executed! Good luck! Truckstop
  11. +1 I use the B, C, C# and the D about 4 times each in my bands set, but I couldnt imagine playing those notes an octave up. The riffs would just lose all that power! Truckstop
  12. ^ Wick! Truckstop
  13. So, if someone were to buy an Ashdown Little Giant and hook it up with a nice external pre-amp, the volume issues go away? Truckstop
  14. Mark Knopfler - Guitarzzzz Guy Garvey - Vox Chris Adler - Drums We'd be called 'Big Hat, No Horse' and we'd play country covers but with amazing drumming from Chris. It'd be the wick! Truckstop
  15. I'd tap it. Truckstop
  16. STONE ROSES - FOOLS GOLD! Truckstop
  17. No, this is the tea forum... Truckstop
  18. Oh I want it! It'd go perfectly with my '54 Sting! One in BEAD and the other EADG <slobber slobber slobber> Truckstop
  19. What's the silver expression pedal/footswitchy thing off the pedal to the front? A line selector? Truckstop
  20. What sort of value trades are you after? Beautiful bass, by the way! Truckstop edit: nevermind, found one on t'internet to get the value.
  21. That is possibly one of the coolest basses I've ever seen and if I had the money free I'd snap it up! Don't suppose you're interested in any trades are you? Alex
  22. NAMM! You can buy stuff there, right? Truckstop
  23. See if you can grab a second hand GK head. They sound great flat, and the boost control can add a really nice subtle drive if you don't push it too far. I've had mine for 5 years and it's coped in a death metal band, motown covers and now an Atmospheri-core band. Surprisingly versatile! I think I've seen a GK RB700 for £400 on here? Truckstop
