1. I use the Diago Powerstation, Jonnyshredfreak make an identical clone for a fraction of the cost. Very cheap.
2. Interesting stuff from http://pkeffects.com/ - would love to have a proper go with the Syn-the-si-zer.
3. 51m0n has said everything that I wanted to say; I'm very glad that I had a read through of this thread because I could have been typing out a response for quite a while.
4. I just can't seeing this being practical, reliable or particularly popular. Not a fan of the faux Ampeg styling either.
5. Couldn't have put it better myself!
6. Haven't had a go, but am interested as to what the possibilities are of this pedal. There's some interesting notes on the web about it.
7. M80 can do parallel effected, which I've found to be quite useful. Personally I chose the M80 because of its' switchable distortion channel (which I prefered the sound of compared to the sansamp) and the mids control, which the standard Sansamp was lacking.
8. What kind of pedal possibly takes such a crazy supply?!
9. Having a decent pre/di like a Sansamp or the MXR M-80 around helps in many situations, so whether you end up needing using one live or not (which I assume you won't have to if you can always get your cab mic'd) they are really valuable swiss-army like tools to have around. Live or in the studio, next to my Tuner, my M-80 is my most important pedal.
10. The patch switching latency exists in most all multi-effects pedals, however in a band mix it is normally not a cause for concern unless if it is particularly prevalent. As said above however, in stomp box mode it's fine, so if it bothers you that much there is a way around it. Or of course you could go down the addictive and expensive route of single stomp boxes...
11. I'm all about my Boss TU-2 - the industry standard for years. Can be picked up super cheap second hand, so reliable.
12. This could be done with the Morley Blender - a mixable effects loop, controlled by an expression pedal. Youc an go from 100% dry to 100% wet (and everything in between) to taste and switch on the fly by using your foot. Pretty cool, huh? http://www.morleypedals.com/dfxb.html Hope that's of some help. Otherwise you could hit up sfx, he's done a lot of custom work for members on this forum and has many happy customers!
13. I'll be watching the demos of this very closely. Just purchased a Fulltone Bass Drive, but I could always be persuaded to swap it out if this lives up to its' potential...
14. Bought an EBS DynaVerb from him last week; it arrived very quickly, in perfect nick and sounds great. Cheers mate, pleasure doing business.
15. The Marshall pedals offer great value for money, my Reverb just packed up and stopped working one day. Bit of a shame really, but I've just been able to afford a DynaVerb, so every cloud...
16. The idea of "no bass" really isn't that original or shocking, I mean this stripped down sound has been done a thousand times. What about Sea Sick Steve? In a number of his songs, there isn't even guitar at least in the conventional sense, just the One-Stringed Diddley Bow. Just one string nailed onto a pieceof wood with a pick up attatched. Furthermore, consider the electro bands of the 80's, a sound being brought back to resurgence by Hurts. Guitar, drums, keyboards, vocals, yes - but no bass.
17. I've been using standard Fender strings on my Jazz, with tapered E (and B ) strings as their norm. Suit my Jazz perfectly.
18. Big support for the GigRig Virtual Battery.
19.
My setup in my room at uni, pretty much my whole rig apart from a 115 ashdown MAG cab.
Nice set up! I really wish that my set up at uni was more formidable, but I just don't have the space!
20. Fair enough, I just thought that for simple octave sounds, the much cheaper OC-2 would be a much better bet. And to your Bass Metaphors - the MXR M-80 is a MUCH better pedal. I's just sayin'!
21. It is a form of flattery however; someone has judged your performance and music worthy enough of their own recording and consequent sharing to the greater community. As was once said: Any publicity is GOOD publicity.
22.
If it had strings, my old dad always called it a banjo.
My granddad still does the same, worse still, he thinks that doing so is amusing!
23. I've got a FX-25B, nice little pedal it really is. I'm glad I've got mine in a boosted loop; I never noticed the volume drop til I tried it properly in a band situation. Needs a bit more oomph behind it to be used live.
24. Lots of love from me about the Bass Big Muff (won't need another LS-2 for this badboy with the DRY mode) and for the Boss OC-2/3. All about octave down > fuzz!
25. Free bump for a FANTASTIC piece of kit. Absolutely brilliant for full band live recordings or more pristine solo efforts.
