1. NOW SOLD Regrettably, up for sale is my Sire Marcus Miller V7 5 string. Bought earlier this year (April I think), one of the first run of these - unfortunately I wasn't lucky enough to get one of the ones signed by the man himself! This is a great instrument in very good condition, which unfortunately has been mostly sat in it's case since I bought my Warwick. Since my gig schedule is rather lacking at the moment I can't justify owning it as a backup. Only gigged twice and spent it's life in a hard case! Will be posted well packaged in it's original box. Postage is included in the price of [s]£285[/s] £265, and will come well packaged in it's original box. Of course collection would be welcome from Bridlington, East Yorkshire - price £240 without postage. Alder body, 34" scale C shape maple neck, 20 frets. 46mm nut width. The onboard preamp (called the Heritage 3 I believe) on these basses is fantastic. Stacked pots with bass boost/cut, sweepable mid boost/cut and treble boost/cut. Any questions please PM me. Thanks for looking! More pics to follow.
2.
Is the black one,the only 5er that is in stock at thoman?
It sure is - didn't fancy waiting for the white blonde to come back in stock. Was a toss up between the 2 anyway!
3. Great review. In fact I've just ordered a black Alder 5er on the strength of this! Can't wait!

Feedback for gub

Top bloke to deal with, fast payment and great communication throughout. Would be happy to deal with again. Thanks mate
5. Hi, based in Bridlington (East Yorkshire). Would be willing to meet halfway within reason. Yes the Nordstrand does make a big difference, a mate of mine has one with the original pickup in and the difference is very noticeable when A/B'd.
6. Hi all, I bought this bass off ryancowell25 a few months ago, unfortunately I can't justify a bass as great as this sitting around doing nothing. I'm operating on a last in, first out policy at the moment, plus I aren't gigging anymore and am in need of the money! It's in immaculate condition, last month it had a full set up and I restrung it with a set of DR Hi Beams. The pickup was already upgraded when I bought it with a Nordstrand MM5.2 - which is the closest thing out there to a pre-Ernie Ball Musicman pickup - it sounds great. I'll include the original pickup too and a padded gigbag. Looking for £240 delivered UK. Collection is welcome at £220. Here's a link to the original thread with pics: http://basschat.co.u...y%20levin%20olp Feel free to PM with any questions. Thanks for looking
7. Bought an Ashdown head off Johnny - great communication and posted the amp straight away. Pleasure doing business with you!
8. Hi, how much for just the head? Cheers, Ben
9. Hi, how much would you want for the head on its own?
10. Hi, Where are you based?
11. Bought Ryan's Tony Levin signature OLP off him. 100% can recommend as a seller. Great communication throughout, very quick at booking the courier for it, all in all a great guy to buy from. Cheers Ryan for a great bass!
12. Would you be willing to courier? Cheers
13. PM'd, hope this is still available, been looking for one for ages!
14. Now sold, please delete. Cheers
15. Here for sale is my Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0 amp head which I got from here a while ago now. It's had very little use since I bought it, and since I'm not in a band anymore I'd rather it had more use elsewhere, as it's an excellent little amp. Here's the spec from the Genz website: FEATURES • Ultra Light 3.75 lb Design • Power: 375W/8 ohms; 600W/4 ohms • Analog 12AX7 Tube Preamp • Digital SMPS (Switch Mode Power Supply) • High Current Class D Amplifier • Active EQ w/Parametric Mids • 3-Band Signal Shape Circuit (Footswitchable) • Signal Mute Switch (Footswitchable) • Tuner Out • Extended Range Input Gain for Active/Passive Sensitivity • Limiter Circuit • LED Status Indicators • Speakon® Speaker Outputs • Internal Fan Cooling • Full XLR Direct Out Interface • Aux. Input • Headphone Jack • Effects Loop • Optional Footswitch available I don't have the gig bag for it but I'm sure there are a few floating about on the marketplace. The amp will be sold with a power lead but no speakon I'm afraid, as that's already been put to use elsewhere. I'm asking £320 plus delivery costs, which I'll enquire about and update this post when I get the pictures off my camera. Or if you live anywhere near Bridlington I'll deliver within a 30 mile radius, or meet the buyer halfway (for the cost of fuel). That's about it, pics to follow!
16. A big +1 for Barefaced cabs - I run my Compact with a Genz Benz Shuttle 6 and it's the loudest rig I've ever had that retains it's clarity at high volumes. Good range of sounds from the GB too - anything from crisp and clear to warm and a bit fuzzy although if major fuzz is your bag then you'd need a pedal, contrary to what a lot of people say I've never been able to get a massively overdriven sound out of the Genz.
17.
In other words, does 'integrity' come into the picture at all?
In my opinion, no! In my job I sometimes have to deal with people who I disagree completely with - for instance, a proactive member of the BNP who I had to teach how to use a computer! But that's the point of it being a job - you'd be there to make money, simple as. Unless, of course, you're someone like Victor Wooten, who I can't imagine standing in for a session with a death metal band although I'm sure he'd do it quite well!
18. For the last 4 years I've been playing with a guy who seriously makes my job easy - his timing is impeccable. We actually had to drag and drop a verse from the first half of a song into the second half on a recording once (because the guitarist got it wrong the second time!) and bugger me if the tempo was bang on throughout the entire song - it slotted in perfectly. We also seem to gel together really well - even when we're messing around we always seem to be going in the same direction, it makes playing a lot more fun. Saying that, he's just let us know that he's knackered his sciatic nerve and can't drum for an indefinite amount of time (possibly never again), so we're rehearsing with another drummer tomorrow. I just hope I get on with him in the same way! I'm gutted to say the least.
19. Nice one mate, I'll see you there, we're headlining Saturday night but we'll be sticking around all weekend have you played the ELL rally before? It's a great event for a good cause too, the guy who organises it (I think it's Graham?) is a great bloke too.
