  1. Sorry to hear about your arthritis. Those Jet P basses are on my radar for a cheap P Bass and yours would be very desireable if I was in the UK. Love the look of that one.
  2. Time for an update to this great thread These are my basses on the settee: Sterling by Musicman Ray34 (most likely be sold next week). Spector Rebop 5 Lakland Skyline 44-02 (most recent addition) Hamer Chaparral Squier James Johnston Signature Jazz Bass Blade B3 (restored after being broken to bits) Tokai Hardpuncher VSB40 ltd. Ed.
  3. That one is lovely
  4. Hi, I got this Hamer Chaparral 1991 last year and it's a very good bass. I'm not playing out much so I haven't tried it yet with a band. The pickups are not original, it was like this when I got it. z
  5. Thank you 👍
  6. Hello guys, Can you identify the red Spector on the picture? Is this a NS-2a ? It has PJ pickups.
  7. Thanks! This is great, I will definitely check out more music from these.
  8. Wow! Congrats, amazing figuring in the neck.
  9. I should have taken screenshots 😐
  10. Does the link from the original post still work for you? Doesn't work for me anymore.
  11. Hi, thank you for the advice, I’ll remember that next time I will use it on a gig 👍
  12. That's a cool looking Fender, I am kind of familiar with a version like this. I have this Tokai Hardpuncher from the 80´s that looks very much alike It doesn't have any contour where my forearm rests so it can be a little uncomfortable to play because of the sharp edge of the body. The neck is quite the baseball bat also but I like it
  13. Sorry for the zombie resurrection I saw this on Reverb also the other day, this must be a Tokai body with a Blade neck, it looks just like the Tokai VSB-60 limited edition from the 80's. I have never seen any Blade like this before. https://reverb.com/item/41279891-tokai-vsb-80-hard-puncher-1980-s-electric-bass-guitar?show_sold=true
  14. Looks great! Reminds me much of the Stenback bass of Paul Turner (Jamiroquai)
  15. @Doctor J Wow! All are exceptional looking to me. Love the Blade
  16. @lucatus TRB 5P has always been in my mind as a bass I want to own one day. Yours looks great! z
  17. Fine looking rig, and that Gibson is really cool, I have been wanting to try one like that but they are scarce where I am.
  18. Oh that is nice! Congrats 🥳
  19. Hi, here's a photo of my four cheap basses. L-R: Tokai Hardpuncher ltd., Spector Rebop 5, Harley Benton HBZ 2005 Deluxe, Blade B3 rescued bass. I just recently bought the Spector and am liking it so far. The Harley Benton will be sold soon as I don't need two 5 stringers, but it's a good bass for the money. The Blade was accidentally broken to pieces many years ago but my father glued it together again and painted it. I lost the original pickups and electronics so it is now passive with Dimarzio pickups and an old unknown bridge. z
  20. These have been on my "wanted" list since the 90's. Aren't the wonderful basses? I sure wish I could buy (but I can't)
  21. John Taylor of Duran Duran, very funky bass lines and always sounds good
  22. I had a fretted version just like this one. Absolutely wonderful bass, I would recommend it
  23. Chris May came through with a swift answer for my question, the bass is an 'Artisan' model from the mid 80's, so about 30 years old. Fretless and 34" scale. I'm not sure if I will pursue it further, I have never had a fretless bass but have always been interested. I will just have to figure out what is a fair price for a bass like this and go from there. Might need to sell my Trace Elliot combo to help finance this Cheers, z
