  1. https://www.andertons.co.uk/sire-version-2-marcus-miller-v5-alder-4-string-in-natural They do. Get ready to be all over it.
  2. Finally got an update from Adrian. My bass is in progress and should be done on time. They couldn’t get Aguilar pickups for month due to lockdown and stinky poo, but they now got them.
  3. Got two Fender Players. A P and a J. Cost me 2/3rds of the price of one American Fender. They do the job perfectly.
  4. Mate, you ordered a bass with a nitro finish. It’ll get matt, it’ll get cracks. It’s the nature of nitro. It’s fragile. Yes, you don’t want that on a brand new bass. But it could (and will) happen to the bass if you gig it loads.
  5. I appreciate he’s a busy man, yet I don’t think it would take that long to reply to my questions. Again, he was super quick to reply before I placed my order. Why has that changed after I’ve ordered?
  6. As I said in the Maruszczyk thread, I ordered a bass a few months ago, still hasn’t arrived (normal, still within the timeframe), although I emailed Adrian twice this week with questions regarding my order, and no response. Whereas before I ordered he would reply within minutes.
  7. Still that’s two emails about my order....
  8. Nitro being more fragile, could that hairline crack be due to that? Like, the neck may have put some pressure on the neck joint at some point and the varnish just slightly cracked? Not something you want from your brand new bass... but it happened to my ex-US Jazz Bass years ago and it wasn’t even a nitro finish...
  9. Adrian usually is very quick to respond to emails. I emailed him on Tuesday and Thursday and haven’t heard back... I hope it’s not a « I’ve got your order so now I’m quiet » kind of policy!
  10. Ok. Good to know. What about that sofa shot then? When did you order? Was it within 15 weeks or quicker? @Gareth Hughes
  11. Yeah, worth a check with Adrian. As you said, the bass will be finished AFTER the law change... I guess the final price should reflect it, why charge me a total price with a VAT of 19% when 16% is into place?
  12. Not sure if you guys have the answer... basically Germany is reducing their VAT rates from 19% to 16% till the end of 2020. Maruszczyk has said on their website that they’ll reflect that by reducing their prices as well. Question: I ordered a bass with them in April, but I’ve only paid the initial deposit (50%). I assume that I won’t get a reduction on the other 50%, because I made the purchase before the change in VAT law? Not trying to sound like a cheapo... just wondering.
  13. Speaking of Maru's colours, I ordered mine in Charcoal Frost coz I like their approach to it, it's got more of a blue hue to it, compared to Fender's Charcoal Frost for example. Can't wait to receive it.
  14. Just placed an order through their online Configurator... Elwood C 5 string, Charcoal Frost Metallic, Alder body, Maple neck and fingerboard, Aguilar 5J-HC pickups, Delano Sonar 2 band preamp. Straightforward, hopefully good sounding Jazz Bass. Nothing fancy, just a bass to my taste.
  15. What I love about my Player P is the neck profile. I’ve been a J guy for years and I was dreading getting a P because of the neck, but the one on the Player P is very Jazz-like. Wider at the nut; yes, but the thickness makes it so comfortable! I can switch between my two basses with no issues whatsoever.
  16. I own two Player Series Fender basses: one Precision in black/maple, and a Jazz in white/maple. Both are really good basses for the price. They play well, they sound good, and the finish is also really good. Neck and frets are fine on both. Once in a band mix, you cannot really justify spending £1300+ on an American Fender. I’m really happy with my Players; they cover all my bass needs! With my band, the P is my main axe. Sits nicely in the band mix!
  17. I got to say I really like it too, but I couldn’t help going back to a SansAmp (very different animal). Hence the sale.
  18. Thanks, it actually helped me finding a good setting for the pedal myself, when I bought it months ago. Great resource for potential buyers!
  19. After 15 years of bass playing, I got sick of having pedals to plug in every practice... so I got myself a small pedalboard. -Tuner: a very old Korg DT10, it’s a tank but still works fine. -Compressor: Ampeg Opto Comp. Does a good job as well, I don’t like my sound to be ultra-compressed and this one is subtle enough. -Harley Benton (Joyo) Ultimate Drive: a cheap OCD clone, for when I need an overdriven sound. Couldn’t be arsed spending a ton of cash on Darkglass. -Fuzz: EHX Green Russian Big Muff, which actually belongs to my guitarist. I only use it on one song. -SansAmp BDDI V2: the core of my sound, my main preamp. After a few months on an Aguilar TH DI, I decided to go back to a SansAmp, as I was missing that tone.
  20. For sale, Aguilar Tone Hammer DI pedal in excellent condition, it’s only a few months old and has never been used in live conditions. It’s a fantastic preamp/DI, but I’m just looking to try out something else at the moment. It comes with the 18V power adapter. I’m based in Edinburgh, you can collect it or I can ship. I’m asking £175 for it. Thanks!
  21. I’m having the temptation to go for a custom Elwood 4. My only concern is about the lack of string tree/retainer. I guess Adrian and his team know what they’re doing; but have you guys felt the need for one of those, or is the headstock angle enough to stop strings from rattling/buzzing?
